Headlines: Marine can’t wear uniform at graduation!, Chardon High denies requests to wear military uniforms at graduation! and Texas school bans Marine from wearing uniform at graduation!
The names of the schools change from state to state, but the message remains the same. The New Patriotism is Non-Patriotism!
The New Patriotism, on display all across Academia is Non-Patriotism. In cities and towns all across this land, school boards and administrative officials are demonstrating their disdain for the US Military in ways that once were limited to Berkeley and San Francisco.

I received an interesting email from a friend who is currently serving in Iraq. The email included this list of traits that our military uses in evaluating whether an individual is a Jihadist or just a civilian.
While the list comes to us from Afghanistan, I cannot help but believe the listing would also have some validity for use in Iraq as well.

SPLITTING THE DEMOCRAT PARTY!
It is becoming more and more obvious that the Democrat Party will not be able to come to a consensus on their candidate until their National Convention in Denver. Quite probably, only after backroom bargaining, their nominee will emerge on the second or even third ballot of their delegates.
It is important to note that 20% or more of each candidates supporters have stated that they will not, under any circumstance vote for the other candidate. Significant numbers have threatened to either vote for McCain, or sit out the election.

On every front it seems that we are all doomed. Man's insistence on exhalation of CO2 will doom us all to a fiery death within our own lifetimes -- if consensual anthropomorphic global warming is to be believed.
Those of us not killed off by climate change will probably succumb to obesity -- at least our children will -- now a world health issue. To combat this, the World Health Organization has proposed a worldwide ban on junk food advertising on television.

In an effort to shore up a crumbling infrastructure, the state of Michigan has commissioned a study costing $250 million to study Roman roads throughout Europe, to determine why those roads have lasted for thousands of years while I-75 cannot last even one winter without succumbing to pothole heaven.
In an unrelated story, the Michigan Legislature has voted to discontinue the practice of naming potholes in Michigan roads after the first motorist to discover them, choosing instead to name them after discredited politicians.

Elliot Spitzer has announced to his most senior aides that he has been involved in a Prostitution Ring, and will be making a public statement about it at 2:15 pm.
Apparently the New York Times has just broken the story.
Mr. Spitzer, who was huddled with his top aides early this afternoon, had hours earlier abruptly canceled his scheduled public events for the day. He is set to make an announcement about 2:15 this afternoon at his Manhattan office.
Mr. Spitzer, a first-term Democrat who pledged to bring ethics reform and end the often seamy ways of Albany, is married with three children.
Just last week, federal prosecutors arrested four people in connection with an expensive prostitution operation. Administration officials would not say that this was the ring with which the governor had become involved.
De-FREAKING-licious!

Well, actually it was Barnum's rival David Hannum who made the comment, but the observation is still relevant.
Today our nation faces a massive "sub-Prime" mortgage meltdown that is threatening the entire banking and mortgage industries; a stock market in apparent free fall; devastating increases in energy and food prices; and the threat of increased unemployment in industries across the spectrum.

The fact that THAT site chose a name oh-so-very close to another quasi-porn site that dominates the left, gives one pause to wonder just how much of their clientele might come from that very site (but I digress).

It has come to our attention that some people are uncomfortable with their middle names. Because we never want anyone to ever be uncomfortable for any reason or about anything, it has been decided by the powers that be that all middle names or articles will be eliminated.
As an example, former President John F Kennedy will now be known simply as John Kennedy. Former candidate John F Kerry will now be simply known as John Kerry. That's right, there will no longer be any F in Kennedy or Kerry around here.

The Hinzsight Report has uncovered an anonymous source which has provided irrefutable evidence that a US Senator with presidential aspirations has been sleeping with a lobbyist who had business before that senator’s committee. Both the senator and the lobbyist are married.
This is a clear ethics violation at the least, and raises serious questions as to whether federal laws have been broken.
As an influential member of the Senate Military Construction Appropriations Subcommittee, Senator Diane Feinstein routinely reviewed and accepted contracts from Perini Corp. and URS Corporation, both owned by Richard C. Blum, a man with whom she was sleeping on a regular basis. While carrying on this personal relationship with Blum, Feinstein was responsible for approving billions of dollars of military construction contracts for the two companies.
It is known that Blum personally profited millions of dollars from those contracts, and Feinstein, under California law, is reported to have shared equally in those profits.
