Karzai Gets it. Why don’t Democrats?

Often it is best to let a finite number of words replace extensive textual remarks. When a person speaks from comprehensive experience and erudite knowledge, listening becomes a necessary skill. This approach clears the mind and provides a basis for intellectual discovery and observation.

All too often, this daedal approach is lost in the confusion created by ignominious actions. This is especially true in our democratic republic during a campaign season, when representatives refuse to hear the majority of citizens. Thus is the situation we are in today as Democrats struggle to regain relevance amongst the populace. It appears that tactically, Democrat Party plans for November include more parochial disclosures of classified information, riling up the anti war base, planning for impeachment hearings, encouraging waves of trolls to attack blogs and other nefarious activities that confuse the populace and keep us from being safe. I posit this is not a plan, but the actions of a party so disconnected with our countries majority they can not formulate coherent policy.
This is not the case for appreciative and intelligent people such as the President of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai. Watching somewhat in disbelief as the press pursued the New York Times latest classified exposure of select NIE data, Mr. Karzai made the following remark;
Terrorism was hurting us way before Iraq or September 11 ... These extremist forces were killing people in Afghanistan for years, closing schools, burning mosques, killing children, uprooting vineyards," Karzai said. "They came to America on September 11, but they were attacking you before September 11 in other parts of the world. We are a witness in Afghanistan.
"Do you forget people jumping off the 80th floor or 70th floor when the planes hit them? Can you imagine what it will be for a man or woman to jump from that high?" Karzai asked recalling some of the more shocking scenes from the World Trade Center bombing. "How do we get rid of them? ... Should we wait for them to come and kill us again?"
I will let his remarks stand for themselves. Perhaps the Democrats can learn something.
l'ancien regime indeed. Following that theme, it will take a revolution of thought for them to change.
"Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori"
in more detail. Why is it that the frame of mind which we call Liberal, or more properly left wing, bears more than a striking resemblance to repressive autocrats of the eighteenth century?
Is it because they held power in the USA for so long?
Is it because of their casual assumption that they are better than everyone else?

Right schools (preferably Ivy or other big names), right jobs (law, academe, high finance, show biz, hi-tech), right attitudes. Thus they think they are born to rule.
It's our job to prove them wrong!
to start actaully paying attention.
They choose otherwise.
The relativist world-view the democrats held on September 10, 2001 and wished to impose on the majority of Americans was turned upside-down on September 11, 2001.
In order to "get it," they must first admit that they were wrong.
That this assault on their world-view happened on President Bush's watch is simply unforgivable.

"The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so." - Ronald Reagan
began in 1980 when Reagan and a republican senate were elected.
Its been all downhill for them ever since.

Actually, the Democrat mindset finds its Genesis in the Vietnam era. That generations "coming of age" proliferated the liberal principals which define their ideology.
I suspect this is one of the reasons it is so hard for them to accept a majority of American's disagree with them. They have been coddled and nurtured by a sycophantic crowd that has cheered anti military, anti establishment, anti family, pro political correctness, pro merit less achievement and pro socialist propaganda thought. Accordingly, liberals believe if they persevere our populace will see it their way. Nothing could be further from the truth.
"Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori"
The Democrats do not know the enemy. The Democrats do not understand the war. Hamid Kazai is living it.
The Democrats are playing a losing political game, and "losing" is the loded word: If they lose the various elections, they lose; if they win, our national security loses. The world loses.
There is a lot at stake here, you know.
Accordingly, we should continue to shout it from the highest mountain.
Their principals of self loathing defeat, surrender and appeasement have been proven an egregious failure. To continue marching down that path displays a significant lack of sagacious leadership and a bankrupt ideology.
"Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori"
...while Karzai's life (and the lives of the Afghan people) is literally at stake.
If we fail in Iraq/Afghanistan, it validates the Dems' defeatist world view and they can re-focus their anger and energy on "bigger" issues such as gay marriage and removing crosses from public buildings.
If we succeed, they'll just remind everyone that they voted for the war and pretend to be happy that the world is a better place.

I watched that press conference yesterday. He seemed to be pleading with the reporters to quit being so stupid and understand that the terrorists will attack you no matter what. Almost a "Can't you see what will happen if you don't capture or kill these people?". Reminded me of Gen. Honore and his "You're stuck on stupid!" comment only with a bit more diplomacy. 8*)

they learn nothing and forget nothing.
