CBS News uses vid produced by al Qaeda

It would be expected, I think, if CBS News used al Jazeera vid and notified viewers that it was al Jazeera vid. But this is far, far worse, and there was NO notification.
CBS Chief Foreign Correspondent in Baghdad, Lara Logan, first appeals for help in getting a key story about the battles around Haifa street put on the CBS Evening News instead of just published on the CBS News website...when it appears that part of her footage is straight from Al Qaeda.

Iraq watcher, Nibras Kazimi a Visiting Scholar at the Hudson Institute in Washington DC., noticed something strange about Logan's piece.
Kazimi seems to have discovered that some of the film in Logan's piece is the exact footage that first appeared on an al Qaeda sponsored website. Yet during the CBS piece they claim is is just "footage obtained by CBS" and they do not mention its original appearance on the al Qaeda site.
CBS News is broadcasting al Qaeda propaganda. Lara, dear, you are insane.

At a roundtable discusion a number of years ago Wallace asserted his first loyalty was to the news, and regarded himself as a newsman first and then, possibly, an American.
The topic was Vietnam and the news coverage of that war. Included in the panel was a former Army colonel who when he heard this said with dripping contempt, "and to think I and my men might have had to risk our lives to save yours".
Although Wallace did not prize his U S passport or citizenship regarding himself as a citizen of the world and newsman, yet he never sent his resume to Pravda or Tass. Both were alive and thriving at the time and would have welcomed a man of Wallace's caliber.

Truth is concrete. News is a commercial product, made to sell to us consumers. News has become a pathway to political power.
For those of us paying attention during Rathergate, the MSM has a cognitive disconnect between "Truth" and "News". Therein lies the problem.
papers, Pravda and Isvestia, had names that translated to Truth and News. The saw was, in the Truth there is no news, in the News there is no truth.

It amazes me how groups like Bin Laden & Co. are able to run web sites and issue press releases to Al Jazeera, CBS, and God knows who else... yet we can't seem to track them down.
