VA-SEN: The Real Face Of Macaca Is Shown
By Mason Conservative Comments (3) / Email this page » / Leave a comment »
George Allen had declined an award from the Thurgood Marshall Leadership Fund becasuse Sen. Allen ushered through the Senate a bill that would give historic black colleges $250 million. An outrage, born at Daily Kos (where else) ensued and now Allen has graciously bowed out of the award:
Allen ascribed the reaction to political adversaries in an election year.
"I regret that there are those who would put their personal or political dislike of me ahead of the needs of deserving students and I do not want to be the cause of any controversy which could in any way harm the efforts to help these young people," Allen said in a one-paragraph statement distributed by his Senate office.

OK, I talked about this extensivley on my personal blog. What this basically shows is that the left have a certain political narrative they will not deviate from. The head of that in this race is "George Allen = Racist." Any proof to the contrary must be eliminated. The outrage of the dKosers, and their Virginia cousins at Raising Kaine, is proof of that. The comments are that this is an outrage, but not a real outrage, rather an outrage this it proves Allen is not racist.
George Allen did a very good thing. The black community has a problem in education, especially getting their youth into college. A lot of it has to do with money, that they cannot afford it. Allen's bill will help alot of African-American kids who could not go to college without the money this bill will give. This is the message of the TMSF:
"The Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Fund (TMSF) was established in 1987 to carry on Justice Marshall's legacy of equal access to higher education by supporting exceptional merit scholars attending America's Public Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs)"
Senator Allen has lived up to this standards, and a whole lot of black kids in Virginia are gonna have a better future becasue of the money Allen got them. The left in Virgnia is exposed here as not people who care about minorites, but those who care only about calling Republicans racist to win elections, even when the evidence suggests otherwise. While many people are justly outraged by Allen's "macaca" comment, the talking heads and political insiders on the Democratic side were actually ectatic about it, and their anger put on to make the story last longer.
Hopefully this post will get the word out how the left his trying to censure any good deed Allen has done towards minorities in America that prove he is not what they say he is. As far as libs are concerned, Allen relaxes in white sheets, and real proof will convince them otherwise. The problem now is that the big media, with The Washington Post at the head of the line, that drove the "macaca" story will not report this story with anywhere near the ferocity they did with macacagate. If this story gets reported, the fact that Allen got $250 million for Virginia black colleges will also come out, and that will disprove much of what the wags, nags, bloggers, and editorial writers have declared as fact.

that he just recently stopped beating his wife. I'm told he still tortures kittens in his office, though.
Hard stuff, that.

. . . that for some people, they assume Allen IS racist that he has to prove he is not, instead of the opposite. Its sad, really.

Just because he helped pass that bill doesn't give proof that he isn't racist, or at least slightly more prejudiced than most people. Unfortunately for him, most of his actions and words give evidence against what you're trying to argue. Was this a good deed? Of course, but it won't and shouldn't make up for everything else.
