Every elected Democrat and every member of the White House Press Corps should be forced to watch this ABC News report from 2000. Before President Bush messed up the US international reputation by acting like a foolish cowboy.
[HT] to Powerline
I planned on posting this myself. It's a bit of a shock to the system - even I was getting brainwashed by the MSM to believe that nobody ever suggested a connection between Iraq/WMD/Al Queda until the evil Bu$hCo came along.
Simply amazing.
The truth is quite a powerful weapon. Especially in the hands of those that willingly hide it, such as the left and the MSM.
My God, what has happened to our country?

Everyone knows the September 11 attacks never would have happened if President Bush had not removed Saddam Hussein from power. And besides, everyone knows Saddam was a secular dictator and never would have had contacts with groups like Abu Sayyef or Ansar al Islam. And Saddam, who brutally oppressed his people with secret police spreat out over the entire country, never had control over the areas of Iraq where these terrorists were harbored and given safe quarter.
/I suppose that's enough cognitive dissonance for now. I had also forgotten about this report. The last time I saw it was in March, 2003. Where has it been for the last four years? It almost seems like some people in the media have tried to keep quiet about all these things. Nah...the media whould never do that.
deemed to exist.
However, these things have become easier in the information age. The Soviets had to track down the copies of the encyclopedia to remove photos containing the purged and replace with airbrushed photos that reflected the revised reality.
Now the MSM just floods the airwaves with spin.
for not using this stuff years ago.
It is their friggin' responsibilty to keep the war sold.
They should have pre-emtped the lefties on this. Afterall, they ahve truth, history, patriotism, and common sense on thier side.
....this President has (unfortunately, in my opinion) never attacked, nor effectively responded to attacks by, the opposition.
"Being nice" does not encourage compromise - it proclaims weakness.
I understand the President has goals about upholding the dignity of the office, but his opponents don't

from one of my brethren at The Charlotte Observer, Ed Williams:
In 1998, Bill Clinton said unless Saddam was stopped he'd believe the international community had lost its nerve and he could safely rebuild his arsenal.
Bill Clinton's warning
Clinton said, "In the next century, the community of nations may see more and more of the kind of threat Iraq poses now -- a rogue state with weapons of mass destruction, ready to use them or provide them to terrorists. If we fail to respond today, Saddam, and all those who would follow in his footsteps, will be emboldened tomorrow by the knowledge that they can act with impunity."
History will judge America for what we've done there. History would have judged us for doing nothing, too.
