HT to Michelle Malkin...
It's unfortunate that the Marine Corps can't remove Rep. John Murtha from their rolls. The man is a blight on the Corps and on the Congress. He is a shameful excuse for a human being. I have stronger opinions but posting rules deter me.
Anyway, Murtha was confronted with his accusation about the "Haditha Marines" and here's his reaction...
The people of Murtha's district should be ashamed of their Congressman. And, wishfully, they'll do something. Like retire him. And find something to charge him with that will result in him going to prison. But I'm dreaming...
certainly the last refuge of a coward.
...that elevator was a lot closer than Okinawa.

verdict? This just in, Murtha refuses to pass judgment on Saddam since his family could file a civil action in Berkely to clear his name.

John Murtha: sack of human excrement.
Thank you, Jason Mattera.

But I loved it. The smirk at the end is priceless.
One would hope that somebody in the media asks Murtha the same questions at some point.

We would also like to know your advice for somebody like my daughter, who's going to graduate in two years, advice that you would give a young person.

As a college student, I am glad that I joined YAF and even more so after seeing this.
John Kerry came to my school yesterday and I wanted to ask him the same difficult questions(but not about the war) but I had to go to class, makes me sad. (At least I didn't get tasered)
...on c-span. Supporting a War that he won't fight. But he is brave enough to "capture" an old war veteran in an elevator and smirk with satisfaction for the camera. What a hero.
like we've never heard that one before.

...isn't that worth a medal for bravery in LibLand?
Or does he also have to carry a hand-painted poster and make Murtha's head out of paper mache to get full credit?

without an answer...as to why Murtha issued a verdict before the trial even happened. Due process and all. Chickenhawking or not, it's up to Murtha to be accountable for he did, because the questioner obviously did not force Murtha to say it.
anyway, if this muttera guy comes up missing I am going to be suspicious.
This is what I don't get. It's not a game. It shouldn't be "gotcha!" politics. The smirk is emblematic of the cynicism of the YAF, but also--dare I say?--Clintonian.
What have you won? You guys are the ones who want to "stay until the job is done" and "never surrender", but how do the deaths of Iraqis in what the world considers a massacre help you? So you pestered and humiliated a Marine Corps veteran...great job! The Iraqis killed at Haditha are still dead, and the exonerations will be seen as a whitewash. The mission in Iraq is still teetering, and you guys are acting like we just pushed Al Qaeda out of Iraq!
Interesting how tunes around here change. From "Free the poor Iraqis" to "Don't dare mess with our boys!" I wonder what the priority is.
My, my, it's getting crowded there:

"No compromise with the main purpose, no peace till victory, no pact with unrepentant wrong." - Winston Churchill
It is too bad that the whole conversation wasn't carried out in a quieter, more relaxed manner. And it would have been much better if Mr. Murtha had simply apologized for having accused those other two marines by mistake and admitted he had made a mistake doing so and rushing to judgement.
I think it would help GWOT if Congress passed a resolution 535 to 0; Keep American troops in Iraq until all the terrorists there are dead.
Coward might be a little strong. I do think the guy is a buffoon though.
So Okinawa John wants to ask his questioners on this issue if they served, fine. Lets find some vets, any vet to ask him these truthful questions.
Love to see his face and hear his answers if say a CMH holder asked him that question on camera.
It is a question of honor, and Okinawa Jack has no honor.

Ingraham ain't bad. Kind of a guy's voice (although not on a Coulteresque, tuck-the-onions level), but she looks good. But Malkin is sweeeeeeeeeeet. Different league.
voluptuous beauties, but (prepare for thread saving comment) not with not as much girth as Murth!

Good idea with the thread-saving, recovery comment.
So, you must like Scarlett Johansson...and Murtha should wear a scarlet letter "C" for "Coward".
not all involved in the incident have been cleared:

On the topic of cowards Bush, Mr. AWOL and Cheney Mr. 5 deferments rank pretty high on the list. At least Murtha actually served our country unlike the majority of the Bush administration.
you have no idea of the meaning of the words "duty" or "honor" mean. There is a reason why GWB and Cheney are welcomed with open arms by our active duty military and why Murtha won't dare show his face at a Marine Corps Ball (the USMC birthday party).
You are a pathetic excuse for an American. Utterly pathetic. I'd be happy to introduce you to the Marine Corps families of my acquaintence, but if you want to show up, wear body armor. The Marines would ignore you as the nusance you obviously are, the Marine Moms would likely beat you to death.

it is monstrous that anyone would accuse such a man as Murtha of cowardice.
this is the technique of Satan worshippers.
it ok to diagree with him; but true courage is standing up to those kinds of people who throw about epithets like coward against those they disagree with. calling a brave, courageoous and noble person such as Murtha is the technique of debased persons who are cowards themselves. It is to be noted further that the cowardice that accuses honest men of cowardice is a sin peculair to those enslaved to Satan and his minions.
"...the Virtue associated with Tyranny is Fear."
--Montesquieu, L'Esprit des Lois
John Murtha is about as far as you get from an honorable man. He's been deceitfully trading off his USMC career for at least 30 years. He's got a long history of holding Administrations hostage if they don't ask his opinion on matters relating to the military, not that he has any knowledge to trade on.
Murtha is so ignorant, he suggested that we should move troops in Iraq "over the horizon" to Okinawa so they would be available if needed. First of all, it's over 5,000 miles. Mostly by sea. And, oh by the way, the Pentagon has been negotiating with the Japanese to withdraw our forces from Oki for at least five years. About the same time Murtha made his idiotic suggestion, the Marines reached an agreement to move our forces from Oki to Guam.
Murtha, historically, has yet to find a conflict where he felt comfortable recommending any action but a pull out. The guy is a coward. The guy is an ignorant fool. And, oh yeah, the guy is an "unindicted coconspirator" in Abscam.
You can take your disjointed and ignorant comments and stick them where the sun does not shine.
