Rep. Rangel sneers at fellow CBC member.

I'll link to the Old Grey Lady, yah, sure, you betcha (from JohnRichardson in blogs):

“It’s not just committees — our influence within the House Democratic caucus will grow enormously,” Mr. Rangel said in an interview.

To that end, he sketched out an expansive federal agenda: Teaming up with Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg on gun control, passing new tax incentives for urban job programs, and redirecting federal money to New York in return for the outsize tax collections that the federal government makes here.

“Mississippi gets more than their fair share back in federal money, but who the hell wants to live in Mississippi?” Mr. Rangel said.

[Emphasis added by Erick without telling Moe]

I presume that one of those people would be Rep. Bennie Thompson, Congressman. You may know him; he and you share a caucus. There's also Rep. Eugene Taylor, but I somehow expect that you do not care overmuch for his opinion.

Even if he's a Democrat, too.

Main Street America.

Gun control, new taxes, urban job programs (I assume to be funded by federal taxpayers) and taking money from that evil redstate Mississippi and sending it to New York.

Yep good thing Charlie Rangel could kill a child* and still get reelected in his district so has nothing to worry about.

*please note I do not accuse Ranel of killing any children in the past or present-it is only a figure of speech.

He won't even be able to get the new freshman Democrats to go along with that--most of them are from places like Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Arizona. Even John Kerry went out to shoot a goose in Ohio.

But let him try it, and we'll hear lots of hoots and hollers from all over the political spectrum. Hr really doesn't want to stay in the majority very long, does he?

The bad news: Conservatism is hard to sell. The good news is that it works.

Dear Rep. Rangel:

Jusging by the amount of bleu staters I see here and in other places in the south I am going to venture a guess and say alot of people. I guess they are fed up with the "charms" of living in those Democratic socialist workers paradises such as New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Michigan and California.

Right now we have so many people moving here from California that it reminds me of the Michigan diaspora of the early 1980's.

...the liberals who flee blue areas wouldn't bring their politics with them.

Rangel
Pelosi
Turban Durbin
Dean
Kerry

Should have all been made into albatrosses around the dems necks.

We cant count on them to do it for us everytime.

on redirecting money back into people's pockets through tax relief as opposed to biting off a bigger piece of pork for his cronies.

They say these things in plain sight, and no one bats an eye. Where are the conservatives in the House to point this out?

audaces fortuna iuvat

...disparaging a State? I know there is one for the Senate.

It may be tough, but somewhere between 13 and 18 seats will need to be flipped in 2008 (10 are goners already for the Dems, according to RCP). Disparaging people, states, and the nation seems to be a hobby for the likes of Rangel, and we need to make sure he has an open mic.

Let them speak for themselves. Republicans usually win because we run against democrats.
