That's one classy military adviser that you have there, Senator Obama.

"He was fresh out of jail, you know," Gen. McPeak said. "Skinny kid. All beat up of course, physically. But quite thin. They weren't feeding him very well in Hanoi. He's done very well at the dinner table in Washington."
Reaaaaallllly classy, McPeak. I especially liked how you described being released from half a decade of physical and mental torture as being "fresh out of jail." That's precisely the sort of thing that we're all becoming wearily accustomed to as coming out of the mouth of your standard, hardcore Obama supporter.
...but perhaps he was just confused and meant to say:
"He was fresh out of Harvard, you know," Gen. McPeak said. "Skinny kid. All indoctrinated of course, in dreams of a socialist paradise. But quite thin. They didn't feed him arugula in Jeremiah's house, just audacious racism. He's done very well at Rezko's trough in Chicago."
There. That's better.

With all the people that Obama knows that aren't the people Obama knows....
Obama doesn't really know that many people.
But we should elect him president anyway, because he really knows how to deal with people.
...
yes, that is sarcasm.

Dependence is Slavery.
Obama knows lots of people. He just doesn't know them for very long before he meets them again for the first time. Is it amnesia? Groundhog Day? It couldn't possibly be pure, base, political calculus because that is unbecoming of The Great Man.

between Air Force and Navy pilots, but that just sounds like petty, sour grapes sniping, and it's not like McPeak has been wasting away in Washington for thirty years, either.

I think that McPeak is kind of a known whack-job. During the Democratic primary, McPeak stated that, "Senator Obama doesn't have crying fits and isn't finding his voice at sixty" (I guess he was referring to Hillary's "crying"). McPeak also compared Bill Clinton to Joe McCarthy (which I think that most would agree is a bit extreme), when he was standing on stage next to Senator Obama no less. Not to mention, McPeak has made anti-Israeli/anti-Semitic statements in the past--this is probably part of the reason why Obama is having trouble in FL, but I digress. This current smear of McCain is only the latest in a long line of crazy utterances from McPeak.
Anyway, my point is that McPeak is just one more unsavory character (like Wright, Pfleger, Ayers, and Rezko) in Obama's inner circle. McCain needs to start immediately pointing out all of the fruit loops that Obama hangs out with. Character/judgment is a legitimate issue--McCain and the RNC should stop dragging their feet on this.
is because of this, that Democrats and Liberals view the military the way they do. Those Liberal military personnel seem to reflect the worst qualities, or maybe they're just the outspoken ones.
that John McCain's waking moment each and every day is spent reflecting on his 5 1/2 year nightmare.
Remembering.
No matter how busy he has been over the years campaigning, working on legislation or dealing with the types of mundane things we all deal with in our lives, intrusive thoughts about his captivity most likely are his constant companion.
I give him a lot of credit for being able to accomplish as much in his life as he has.
McPeak's comment is stunningly ignorant.
I heard that Allen West will be giving a speech this Saturday addressing Obama and the use of "race" in politics.
The GO WEST campaign will be videotaping the speech and it should be released sometime next week.
