Obama Beats Clinton. McCain Beats Obama. Clinton Beats McCain.

Obama Beats Clinton.
Barring a major collapse in the Obama campaign, he will win the Democratic nomination for president. He will win Texas by five points; he will squeak out a win in Ohio by a point or two. It will be over on March 4 for the Democrats and all the talk of superdelegates and seating Michigan/Florida delegates will be moot and forgotten.
McCain Beats Obama.
Obamania will subside, though it may be July or August before we start feeling it. He will try to fill his empty eloquence and will succeed to some extent. International affairs in Pakistan, Iran and the Middle East will work in McCain's favor. Bush-hatred will start to wane as people begin to look toward the next presidency and this phenomena will help McCain. The race will be close but McCain will win the electoral college. I'm not sure he'll win the popular vote.
Clinton Beats McCain.
McCain's presidency will see limited success. His health will become an issue. The close win over Obama -- and likely popular vote loss -- will cloud his tenure. Political bickering across the aisle will reach even greater heights as both sides dig in even deeper. McCain will use his veto pen at a far greater rate than Bush II, but this will hurt his popularity. As 2012 nears, Hillary will play the 2008 "victim" card to perfection and will generate party loyalty with "I told you so" rhetoric. She will face little to no competition in the Democratic primaries.
Republicans, on the other hand, will have a spirited 2012 primary season between McCain, Romney, Huckabee and at least one new substantive, conservative player. Emotions will run high as conservatives stage another palace revolt. President McCain will be damaged.
Clinton will win in 2012 against McCain or perhaps another GOP nominee.
There, folks. You heard it here first.
...then Hillary will sabotage Barack's candidacy this November so she has another shot.

Clinton will not get a free pass. It just won't happen - especially if the election is close and Obama wins the popular vote. What exactly will she be "told you so" about? And, really, what exactly would change about her that would make her more desirable to the general electorate? If we actually do see Obama win here and we see a President McCain, why would people want to go back to the past? Will we really want to go back to the Clinton era?
Second, if McCain is not successful then he probably won't run for renomination. If he does, he will win. Romney will not challenge him, though Huckabee might. Unfortunately Huckabee will be the same person he is today, and that's not an improvement from even an unsuccessful McCain. Republicans are not a group to dump an incumbent unless he shows himself to be totally inept.
I'm a screaming liberal from hell, OK, San Francisco, same thing for conservatives. But even with as long as we have until November, I'm seeing a dramatic Obama wave that's beating down one of America's most accomplished political machines.
Gieven the lackluster support that McCain generates amongst conservatives (or sometimes complete lack of it) and the fairly dramatic contrast between their campaigns, I suspect (and hope) that Obama will win everything.

Mr. Dodgy is a 'anybody but Clinton' lefty and you should take anything he says with a pinch of salt. And probably a shot of tequila. Or two.
but I have a sneaky suspicion that Obama's star will fall before the November election. Seems that he is a bit short of details now but when he has to answer actual policy questions, he will be exposed for what he is...
An empty shell masquerading as a politician...but life can be grand for a few months.
Enjoy your short stay...

The voters will continue to elect second tier candidates on both sides until something really bad happens. i just hope it doesn't mean the end of America as we know it....
that you lack the qualifications to make something else of yourself. They do tend to be thought of as slightly lower than used car salesmen after all... All of this tripe about serving the country is just that. Most are after an ego filled life and a good pension.
