Where Was Warner?

Despite the inevitability of this year's respective nominees for president, there was one major mystery still unsolved for the primaries. Former Virginia Governor Mark Warner decided not to run for the Democratic Nomination long before he thought of getting in.
His absence is so obvious that it has gone largely unnoticed. The reason given for his non-campaign was to spend more time with his family. Okay, if he had gone quietly into that good night. Then, Senator John Warner (R) of Virginia decided not to seek his 136th term. Ever the opportunist, the former Governor, and Man Who Could Be King, pulled an Eddie Murphy move from The Distinguished Gentleman. This old guy Warner has the same last name as the young guy Warner. Talk about a cake walk! It's as easy as pie.
While a presidential race would be an unnecessary strain on his family, a front porch campaign for the Senate Seat is not. What do the Clintons have on Warner? He was the rising star with all the right credentials. As a young, former southern governor, with a business background, from a conservative state, he was arguably their best bet.
He never stepped up to the high rollers table. Instead, he took his bucket of coins to the penny slots, hoping for a big payoff in four to eight years. Why bother? Warner obviously doesn't have the stones to be president. His presence in the race might have prevented the rise of Senator O. I doubt it. The real Warner is not ready for prime time, Senator O has redefined it. Now, Warner put himself into a corner. By running for the Virginia Senate Seat, he has virtually eliminated himself from the National ticket. Good. He doesn't belong there.
The Mediacracy turned a blind eye to this non-story. It should have been a bigger story than it was, especially after he jumped into the Senate Race. This is further indication that The Mediacracy is in on it when it comes to strategy sessions for the Dems. You can just see Russert, Matthews, Olberman, Krugman, and Klein all telling Marky Mark to wait his turn. As a parting gift, The Left did offer him a Senate Seat For Life.
Just when I stopped asking: "Where was Warner?" (As if I ever started.) He turns up on this very Republican Site. I guess if you’re not looking to run for the Democratic Nomination, you might as well ask for help from the GOPpers.

Mark Warner has a reputation of avoiding difficult/ugly political contests. He is a path of the least resistance kind of guy.
...a long habit of not thinking a thing wrong, gives it a superficial appearance of being right...

And wherever men are fighting against barbarism, tyranny, and massacre, for freedom, law, and honour, let them remember that the fame of their deeds, even though they may be exterminated, may perhaps be celebrated as long as the world rolls round. ~ Winston Churchill
