Are We Afraid to be Right?

Forgive the pun, but I believe we are afraid to be right. Freedom beats oppression. Democracy defeats dictatorship. Markets maul managed, collectivist economies. Speech suffocates censorship. Liberty tackles tyranny. Life conquers death.
In a nutshell, that is what it means to be not only an American but a conservative. Too extreme? No.
The Left, which likes to promote freedom a la carte, cannot let freedom ring. It hits a sour note. The Left lines up against the freedom forces of the world. It is pro-communist, pro-socialist, and anti-American. Its heroes are those who fight freedom; Uncle Joe, Mao, Hugo, and poor, Frail Fidel.
The Left loves dictatorship. It cannot let real democracy win out in the end. Hell, in its own party, The Left will try and beat the guy with the most delegates to get its candidate in. It is no matter, because either Dem means the end. The Left is all about absolutes. In dictatorships that's what you get.
Dictatorships run everything. They stretch iron fingers throughout the world, grasping at, and strangling, the free market. They horde resources and wealth, and dole it out in small slivers to a population of pets. Lovers of dictatorships despise democracy.
This is why speech is silenced. It is not in a way The Left here would have you believe. No, the rasped, cracked voice of opposition to oppression is censored, permanently. If such syllables ever came together to form the phrase of liberty and freedom, tyranny would fall.
All of these items on the table add up to life and death. Life is about freedom, democracy, ownership, liberty, and the ability to speak your mind. Death is a heavy hanging hand which hovers above all. It is inevitable, but it is oppressive, tyrannical, and absolute. To get there, one has to live. That which is identified with life leads to death.
The United States should take a good look in the mirror. We are about freedom. We are about life. We are about all that is good in the hearts of men. When lined up against the philosophies of others throughout the world, we are right.
We should not be afraid to be so.
