Rudy Red State; Right Man, Wrong Republican

Leadership. That was the title of Rudy's book, and it defined the man. The tide of time moved beyond that September day when the nation stood still, yet strong. The recent wave of history has caught America's Mayor in an undertow from which he will never recover.
Rudy Red State, despite all of his Blue State cred, was the best candidate for the GOPpers. His fatal flaw, one which is shared by Able McCain, is that he wants to be accepted by the elites.
Remember his early days as Mayor? Despite being Pro-Choice, Pro-Gay, and Anti-Gun, his opponents picketed his initial crime-fighting efforts with placards of Rudy as Hitler and swastikas signifying a fascist New York.
Rudy should have gone all the way Right to Red. No matter how much he pandered to the Upper West Side, he was not going to be one of them. He embraced the City more than it did him. Like most love affairs, he was doing most of the work in the relationship, without reciprocation.
When Islamic Terrorists tore at the heart of the City, it was reminded why it was married to this guy in the first place. The City was more than grateful. His final days were his finest.
While the Mediacracy piled on, more than Rudy, 9/11 references, people forgot all that he had done before, and so had he. Rudy turned an unmanageable, dying Gotham, and resurrected it to the brilliant City of Tomorrow it is today. His record is so great that his successor, a twit of creature, knew enough to not rock the boat. Now, there is the real possibility that as Rudy's star sets, Mini Mike might step into the ray of the national spotlight.
In the great dripping ironic blood of politics, the man who made New York the Capital of the World, will watch pretenders to the throne rise up. Mini Mike is just one transplanted New Yorker looking to step over the political corpse of Rudy. HRC, herself, who avoided a throw down with Rudy back in 2000, is likely to seize Excalibur.
Rudy's failure to grasp it all is our loss. We salute you.

You were my candidate from day one, and you're still one of the great heroes of our time. Not just for your sterling performance after 9/11, but for affecting real change, that impacted millions of people in the most positive of ways. Not many people can say the completely turned around one of the largest economies and populaces in the world, but you did. For that, you are a hero of mine: a politician that actually acts for the good of his constituents, not just makes speeches about what he plans to do for them. I hope you run for governor or the Senate. America needs you, Rudy. Thanks for at least trying to get the most important job in the world, to positively impact the largest amount of people. I know you would've been one of our best.

I can only hope that Rudy runs for the White House again in 2012.
