Bush Genius | Iraq Softened, Gutted & Ready for Oil Vultures

If it wasn’t for the disgusting scale of destruction, death, and general chaotic carnage that is Iraq (circa 2007) it would be almost a pleasant and welcome distraction to be glib about the Iraq Oil Law.

To put it succinctly, the Iraqi Government’s approval of the ‘Iraq Oil Law‘ has opened the door to a dismantled Iraq along sectarian fault lines, allows Big Oil corporations carte blanche to the world’s third largest proven oil reserves, and gives the U.S. a perfect opportunity to withdraw expeditiously from Iraq with some small, almost infinitesimal degree of face saving. Way to go President Bush! A disgustingly stupid outcome of stunningly incompetent mismanagement or a cunning plan coming to fruition?

As a sickening side note - I’m curious, do you suppose the estimated death toll was inline with the Bush administration’s game plan? Will it help shape their ‘acceptable collateral losses’ paradigm for the next ‘nation building’ enterprise?

Yesterday the Iraqi government approved legislation to effectively split the vast oil reserves of Iraq along sectarian lines - Shia, Kurd and a little for the Sunnis. The new law (almost guaranteed to pass) gives international oil companies unfettered access to oil contracts and provides the required momentum for the dismantling of Iraq and the further destabilization of the entire middle east region.

Watch for the rapid disembowelment of Iraq and the creation of Shiastan, a Kurdish Republic and a sidelined Sunni state. The Iranians will annex and fold southern Iraq - Shiastan - into the Islamic Republic of Iran. Turkey will follow through with their promise of conflict against an emboldened Kurdistan in northern Iraq. The Sunnis will be left with nothing but a poor central region and one hell of a chip on their shoulders.

If the Iraqi’s disliked the American presence on their lands, wait until the foreign corporations with their private security apparatus enter the fray! U.S. corporate interests will compete hand to hand against those of China, Russia and the EU. Combine that fun vision with a Syrian-backed terrorist safe haven in western Iraq and you have a recipe for turmoil that makes our current situation look positively peaceful!

Will the Saudis allow for an expanded Iran? A Shia sphere of influence reaching across the Middle East courtesy of American stupidity? I’m not sure Israel will be comfortable with the possibility of a new terrorist enclave and what about Turkey? What a bloody mess.

Of course it is so easy to build conspiratorial theories off this tragic turn of events which is highly unfair to the biggest victims of this stinking putrescent turd of political and corporate manipulation - our military deserved better. The Iraqi people deserved better. Those poor bastards - like me - that naively misunderstood the dark twisted maleficent heart of this Bush administration deserve better.

Bush is a genius. Iraq has been softened up, gutted like carrion and unceremoniously dumped in front of the oil vultures.

I thought we were so clever. Be careful. They are also coming for you. Better watch out behind you!

both the oil law and the separation of Iraq into ethnic cantons are ideas that Joe Biden has been pushing for over a year.

Why isnt' this a defeat for Bush and a triumph for the wisdom and foresight of Biden?

The real Geaorge Bush!

You're right, of course. It was much better in Iraq when political opponents were routinely thrown alive into giant shredding machines and attractive young girls were whisked off the street, raped, and then fed to lions for the amusement of guests. Uday! Uday! Uday think gonna feed them lions! The oil money? That was all pocketed by the regime and its French and UN allies. Ahh the good old days, before Bush loused it up, eh?

So. You French, or what?

Drink Good Coffee. You can sleep when you're dead.

What you can NOT do is simply re-register and pee all over the floor some more. That just gets your whiny comment deleted and your IP address thrown in a black hole.
