Maureen Dowd thinks you are a racist

Whenever a man has cast a longing eye on offices, a rottenness begins in his conduct. ~Thomas Jefferson
It can be said with certainty that any person, man, woman, white, black or brown who runs for President of the United States is obligated by the very nature of the position that they seek, to open themselves up for any and all exploration of their past. And why not? This person will be representing every single American; their opinions, actions and most importantly their judgment matters.

Today I discover that Maureen Dowd has penned the ever so tired idea in her ever so haughty better then thou opinion that the Republicans, now that Hillary has exited the race, will “turn their full attention to demonizing Michelle Obama.”
And why not, she is, as they say a “target rich environment”. It is, however my opinion that the wife of a Presidential candidate is off limits, UNTIL she steps up to the microphone and speaks on behalf of the campaign. Michelle Obama has done just that, on multiple occasions and is now fair game.
Dowd goes on to say that
“Mark Penn argued that Hillary should subtly stress Obama’s ‘lack of American roots.’…That’s a good preview of how Republicans will attack Michelle, suggesting that she does not share American values, mining a subtext of race.”
And here we have it; not the first but no less a shot fired across the bow of America saying that any negative comments demonizing Michelle Obama is a racist attack. And as we saw earlier this week, (h/t Erick) “Obama sets standards for everyone else, but he refuses to live up to them himself and damn you for challenging him to live up to those standards. You must be a racist.” And thus continues the unending admonishment from the left that to be against Obama is to be a racist.
Michelle Obama is going to take her big microphone on “The View” as a co-host next week, when she will no doubt try to put her remark about her belated pride in her country in context. But in context they are, right here:
is that anti-feminist of me? I certainly hope so!
Freedom of Religion NOT Freedom from Religion
in fact she was very good looking as a younger woman, but she writes about how she could never find a man who would stay with her. Gee, lets see, Nasty, mean, angry, hostile, cynical, what's not to love?

inner beauty is lacking...ugliness from inside has a tendency to reflect on the outside..
Freedom of Religion NOT Freedom from Religion
Her comment about ugliness on the inside being reflected...
And I went back and looked at Michelle Obama in that little clip and I would have to say that I agree. I have known some very beautiful women who look almost exactly like her. The only real difference in the face is her expression. Hers is just enough Off a smile to darken, if you would permit the expression, a very beautiful face and it leaves you wondering what is wrong.

Maureen Dowd wouldn't know a manner if it slapped her upside her ugliness....and perhaps you don't like what I have to say however it is not incumbant upon you to question it!
Freedom of Religion NOT Freedom from Religion
has a very loud drum.
That is why I posted a warning about this yesterday.
Michelle is a legit target.
We just don't need to expend so much effort on everything she says that when she says a whopper - which she will- people are desensitized to it.
Obama has not yet persuaded the majority of white suburban women to join his movement.
But these same women who rallied to Hillary's defense when she played the victim, will rush to support Michelle the more they hear of these little attacks.
I agree with Hunter, make it meaningful or don't say it.
I agree. Punching women in this culture is a no-no. Even female ax murderers are off limits.
Not a problem. To the extent Mrs. Obama throws spears on behalf of her man, he will be perceived as hiding behind her skirt. To the extent she rants and raves at McCain — indeed, about anything — she will be perceived as a shrew. With her, we don't need to do anything except make the popcorn.
Drink Good Coffee. You can sleep when you're dead.
In true Lefty form, in trying to get attention, she'll over do it. That's the time to strike.
In Vino Veritas
You can't hide the truth when it's on tape. Michelle my Belle made a moronic and idealistic statement that clearly shows her distain for America. The only thing she's proud of is the fact she and hubby might be able to mold America into their own kingdom.

What are we to say to a nitwit with a big megaphone like that? Her words to hurt us, in the sense that a certain percentage of voters who read her column are also nitwits.
But it should stop Republicans not one single, solitary bit from giving Michelle Obama the scrutiny and criticism that she is entitled to as the loud, obnoxious wife of the Marxist who is campaigning to be our president.

I just blogged about it.
They want to make the election about the voters, not about the candidates or even the ideas.
Michelle Obama gives campaign speeches. A principle underlying free speech is that no one gets a pass for the content of their ideas. Welcome to The Show, Michelle.
