she is playing to her base and she is trying to pull a slight of hand. There has been NO progress on the POLITICAL BENCHMARKS set up in the beginning of the surge. If Pelosi et al are able to convince the public that is one and the same, we, the proponents of the war, have no one to blame but ourselves. It is the job of the proponents of the war to explain to everyone else that the political benchmarks set up in the beginning are not the same as political reconciliation.

Great topic choice, but there are a few things that could help it. Its usually helpful to break out the significant bits of the article and try to relate them to the wider topic. Historical background doesn't hurt either.
