I might be reading too much into that phrase, but I'm pretty sure it means that his immigration status is unclear -- i.e., the reporter has either conflicting or no information as to whether the suspect is in this country legally or not.

More interesting, however, is the suspect's "Hulkmania" T-shirt. Why did the reporter focus on that, and why was the brand of his footwear not also publicized? What secret code words is the reporter using by describing the T-shirt, and who will pick up on this?

However, I guess the "execute them quickly" raised an eyebrow for me. I am supportive of capital punishment, but I am not supportive of taking them out back of the court house and execute them as soon as they are pronounced guilty. Yes, the appeals process is a bit over done, but it should not be swung to far the other way either.

I say lock them up in US prisons and bill the government of Mexico for their incarceration costs. Then execute them after normal appeals process, then ship the body back to Mexico.

I am really tired of "catch and release"!

I rode around in a cab for something like a half hour trying to get to the Ramada right outside Newark airport. It's insane -- you can see the hotel from the airport entrance, but there's no visible way to get to it. Add to that an incompetent cabbie, and it was an interesting night.

it's a vestige left over from our tribal days when it behooved us to fear strangers, just as the fight or flight response to anxiety remains. There is a lot of manipulating and finger pointing exploiting this much denied fact.

According to Science Journal, those who claim to be the least racist are actually the most racist. Just because a person has a racist thought does not mean they need to act on it.

We should all just admit it and move beyond it.

The underlying assumption in your first paragraph is that in modern times, "strangers" and "other races" are equivalent. For many people they are not.

In addition, even if true in some psychological sense, the blanket claim "everybody's racist" is a cop-out; it provides a shield to racists who -- like LibertyWins -- advocate race loyalty and race identity. We rightly reject identity politics from the left; we need to do so with as much fervor when it comes from the right.

It's bad enough these ideas still exist; there's no need for you to carry water for them, QueenOfCups.

A whole bunch of people are not racist. And they KNOW they are not racist.
