By SamNC3

Rarely do I mix political commentary with religious exegesis, but in this one instance, I feel a pressing need. There is a lot of consternation with the current world situation, and with good cause. However, I feel that I, as a religious conservative, need to shed an encouraging light upon things for my fellow believers.

Man has tried for centuries to understand the meanings in the Book of Revelation, which foretell the end of the world as we know it, a millennial reign of Christ, leading to the final Armageddon, in which good, or God, executes final triumph over evil, or Satan and the Anti-Christ. Throughout the centuries, many have tried to look ahead to predict this, and look back to say that was it. It is foolish that people tell us that the burning of Rome was what Revelation predicted. It was also erroneous that Hitler was thought to be the Anti-Christ, evil’s main character on the end time stage. I believe it is also in error to think that Osama bin Laden, or Al Qaeda, is directly involved.

Posted at 3:14am on Jul. 21, 2006 Poll Favors Allen

By SamNC3

A recent poll, with a link on Redstate.com, shows considerable favor for George Allen to be a candidate for President in 2008. The poll, full results shown here http://www.gopbloggers.org/julypollresults.php , shows Allen with a resounding lead, and Mitt Romney with only marginal support. While the debate has been heated on Redstate.com about the seeming mass of Romney supporters, this poll shows a more accurate picture. Not only did Allen receive a 73% favorable rating, over Romney's paltry 54.3%, the poll also shows that an overwhelming 63.5% of votes cast considered themselves an 8 or higher on a 10 point scale of conservatism. Contrary to the hype of the Romney camp, this shows Allen has strong support among the most conservative members of the Republican base.

This should not come as a surprise to those who know Allen's record on crime, spending, and welfare. In Allen's tenure as Governor, he initiated a job-training welfare reform program that successfully allowed thousands to leave the welfare rolls and gain employment. He also reformed the lenient parole policy for felons, and improved education standards and accountability. He was responsible for helping attract $14 billion of private sector investment and a net of 312,000 new jobs added to Virginia's economy. As a Senator, Allen continues to fight for lower taxes and fewer regulations, in order to allow businesses to grow and thrive. An advocate of smaller government and free enterprise, Allen is quoted as saying, "I don't like limits and restrictions on people. I think they ought to be only limited by their own hard work, ingenuity, imagination and their character." Allen also believes immigration reform must start with securing our borders by adding more borders agents, as well as using new technologies to help with surveillance.

Despite the smoke and mirrors of viscous attacks from the Romney camp, Allen's stand on the issues clearly strike a note in the conservative community, and should bode him well in 2008 for the GOP nomination. And, despite Ryan Lizza's claim in the May issue of The New Republic, George Allen is not the only person in Virginia who wears cowboy boots. A former Virginian, I own two pair myself.

Posted at 12:46pm on Jul. 2, 2006 CBS News Reports Global Warming is Good for Flowers

By SamNC3

The CBS Evening News reported this week that pollen and allergies are becoming worse because of liberals' favorite junk science mythology, Global Warming. The report said that global warming makes the plants more active, thereby causing them to release more pollen into the atmosphere, and thus increasing allergies.

But wait, I thought global warming was killing our plants, trees, and natural environments? That's what we've been told by these flakes for years. Now, they're telling me that it's causing flowering plants to be more productive, which is a good thing. But now, it's bad for humans. I think this is the first recorded occurence of a liberal being more concerned with a human than a plant. There goes the tree-hugger vote.

So, in conclusion, global warming, according to the experts of imaginary sciences, is good for plants, which is bad for us. Does this mean we should start de-foresting again? I think some strip mining should take care of all those overactive flowers.

Did you know John Kerry actually voted for global warming, right before he voted against it?

Posted at 1:34pm on Nov. 3, 2005 Nothing Better to Do

By SamNC3

I think I have determined what the Democratic Party's true problem is. Boredom. While many might argue insanity, and justifiably so, I would contend that they are simply bored. They have no legislative power, they have no new ideas were they to have any power, they are losing their grip on the mainstream media as people are turning away from the daily and nightly news in droves, not to mention they don't care about prosperity and good fortune, because those are the things that get Republicans elected, not Democrats. (Now, having said that, some beer-soaked nitwit is going to mention Clinton's election in '92, forgetting that Bush 41 was a) a moderate, and b) acted like a Democrat and raised taxes. One step ahead of you, as usual. Back to my point.) So, while there are many worthy subjects facing America at the moment, Democrats have chosen to ignore them and pursue charges against Mr. Libby, hoping to defame the President by showing we went to war on false grounds. (Yes, they STILL think the war was a bad idea. I told you they had nothing new!)

Facing America today is the nomination of a new Supreme Court justice, and, if you refer to my previous blog titled "Harry Reid to Vote Against the Constitution", you will see the same scenario being played out again. The democrats have already attacked the nominee on his alleged views of abortion and the "right to choose". (I'll get attacked for the word "alleged" too. Check the comment section after a few days.) This nomination gives the court a chance to move from its recent legislative course back to its judicial role. The reason liberals are so upset by having more justices labeled as conservatives on the court is that they hold true to the judicial role, leaving the legislative tasks to the legislative branch. (What a clever idea!) The reason liberals want more liberal justices, who will legislate from the bench, is because they can't get a majority in the legislative branch! It matters little to them that there were 4 million more conservative voters than liberal voters in the last presidential election.

Also facing America is a simplification of the tax code. (Watch what this brings out of the woodwork!) Simply put, the tax code in this country is in desperate need of repair. It has reached a point that you need a PhD simply to read it. It should be simpler. Simpler taxes would benefit all Americans, helping them save more money, if by nothing more than not having to pay someone else to do them! It would also help them understand the options that are available to them, so that they can take advantage of whatever tax breaks are available.

Yet, with all these, and many more, important issues facing America, the Democratic party has decided its most important task is to prosecute a 55 year old man named Scooter. Maybe they've finally found Ted Kennedy's scotch stash.

Posted at 10:37pm on Oct. 28, 2005 True Crime

By SamNC3

As if last week's entry needed any reinforcement, the liberals have come out with all guns blazing (not literally, they don't believe in guns) and are taking aim at the source of crime in our cities, the nest of the illegal activity, the root of all that is evil in this country. That's right, I'm talking about...REPUBLICANS. Just the name strikes fear in every tree-hugging, latte sipping, hybrid-driving American. And so, as is custom when the Democratic party fails at the polls, fails in the media, and fails to even agree within its own ranks, it unites for a common cause - outlawing conservatism. I think the rumored new slogan for the 2008 Democratic party is "Unite - Fight - Indict!" Howard Dean is even now ordering posters that read "If you can't beat `em, indict `em!"

America is missing something here. The real criminal activity didn't occur in any Oval Office, or in a Texas campaign headquarters. The real illegal activity is happening right before their eyes, and many, though not as many as before, are welcoming it right into their homes every evening. Many are surfing online just to find it, swallowing it as if it were a pill to get them through the day. But this is no pill, because a pill passes through you eventually, while this horrid beast keeps coming back again and again. And it's time we put a stop to it. It's time we put the media's constant manipulation of the facts on America's Most Wanted, so that every American can be on the lookout. The media has gone beyond its own whitewashing of Clinton's conviction, disbarment, and impeachment to compare the Bush White House to the same. They've gone back on everything they ever reported during the Clinton years about WMD's in Iraq, and they continue to report stories of indictments for crimes that do not exist. All of this occurs in an effort to sway the American public toward an agenda they support, even though the 2004 election proving it was not an agenda the rest of America supports. Despite what liberals believe, free speech has its limits. The Supreme Court history is full of cases that prove such. Everyone knows you can't run into a crowded theater and shout "Fire!" Yet, every night on the evening news, the liberal media does the same. That, my friends, is the true crime.

Posted at 1:40pm on Oct. 27, 2005 Welcome to Gangland

By SamNC3

Yesterday, there was a story on the local news here in Charlotte, NC, aka Gangland, about the Gang Intelligence Unit formed two years ago. They recently concluded that gangs had been well established in this region for 5-10 years, which begs the question - why was this unit formed only two years ago?

We have a growing problem in this country with immigration and crime. Democrats don't want to address it and, sadly, Republicans don't want to address it. Democrats love illegal immigrants, because they usually vote Democrat. However, Republicans have long been accused by the Dems of being racially opposed to immigration until the recent success of President Bush in 2004 among Latino voters in Florida, where they absolutely adore Jeb. There is also a growing crime problem in the Black communities of this nation, where Dems have taught the poorer of these citizens to believe they are entitled to something, and unfortunately, they go get it with a gun.

The problem of gangs, though, takes this to a new level. We need to address this now if we are to avoid the riots seen in the 60's when the Civil Rights movement was at its peak. Gangs have become a means for poorer, uneducated minorities to band together to take what they feel they are entitled to, while more educated and successful minorities understand, like the rest of us, you work for it. This problem needs to be addressed now, before the minorities in this country who are making a contribution to a better America lose the very respect and recognition they have worked so hard to earn. We need to stop fearing the race issue, and deal with the crime issue. A criminal is a criminal, and a thug is a thug, regardless of race. And they need to be treated as such.

The only way this battle can be won is through conservatism. By taking away the "entitlement mentality" pushed on us by the liberals, we teach Americans what it means to be an American. America is a place where you come with dreams, and have the opportunity to make those dreams come true, without unnecessary or unreasonable government control. That is the reason people should come to America, not because Ted Kennedy and Hillary want to give them a handout, a free meal, and health care for their welfare babies. Let's turn America into a place where peace loving, law-abiding citizens of all races feel safe once again, and where thugs and criminals no longer do.
