Huckabee and the left wing conspiracy.

I was very impressed with Mike Huckabee, until I saw his interview on Fox News Sunday last week. The first 15 minutes were spent on ethics issues, while he was the governor of Arkansas.
I couldn’t believe that I hadn’t heard any of this! Huckabee resorted to the “there is a vast left wing conspiracy that has been conspiring against me since I became the Republican Governor of Arkansas,” defense.
That excuse only works for the Clintons. If Huckabee is the Republican nominee, the main stream media will unleash on him. So far they are quiet and hoping that the “values voters” will propel him to front runner and then to the nomination.
How will social conservatives defend Huckabee’s ethics problems? Will it suffice to say that "he shares our values on abortion, guns and gay marriage?" Or, perhaps, “they all did it in Arkansas.”

Considering where the good doctor's head was, when practicing medicine, is it any wonder that the man has issues?
I will support the nominee of the party. However, I believe that Rudy is the only one with a real chance to beat Hillary. (Also, by now he has been fully vetted.) He fought the Mafia and won, he can fight the Democrats and win.
I was really disappointed to find out that Huckabee is ethics challenged. Thompson's day has passed, he looks tired and rambles a lot. I love Romney. I think that it is a shame that his religion comes into play. McCain has never been my choice. I respect him and his service to the country but is too "buddies" with the Dems and praises Hillary for her work in the Senate.

I would consider George W. Bush a conservative. I think most people would agree with that sentiment, despite a few lapses.
And I don't like the tone of "favoring illegal aliens". We don't "not favor" people, we don't favor illegal immigration. There's a difference.
And Ted Bundy's probably felt the same way. No, I'm not comparing GWB to TB, I'm comparing you Huckbots thought processes to hers.
So, you "don't favor" illegal immigration but you don't want to call a spade a spade. Those folk who get here via illegal immigration are, in fact, illegal aliens. When they are identified they should be detained without bail and if they cannot prove legal status they should immediately be shipped to their home country. Along with their illegal alien family - gotta keep the family intact.
Bubba Jr tries to sell that load of offal that you've highlighted anywhere on Mainstreet USA and he'll get tarred & feathered. 16% of Americans agree with him.

This is just another rock on the pile. The bots will be along shortly to 'splane how wrong you are, but this stuff is a matter of perception and the Huckster will get tarred.
This isn't comparable to Rudy's situation because that's ancient history.

....for the conservative movement. Huckabee as the nominee means the GOP will jettison the fiscal conservative, limited government wing of the party. Kudos to the Club for Growth, John Fund, the National Review and others who have shed light on this guys very troubling past. Please Mike, enough with the "I'm for the little guy and we need a big government with open borders to take care of everyone" class warfare rhetoric.
“.....women and minorities hardest hit”
their spinners would be making hay of these petty attacks.
The fund had been used to pay for pizza, a doghouse, a magazine subscription and pantyhose for Huckabee’s wife, Janet, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported.
Pantyhose? Pizza? This is the stuff the Clinton machine would turn into derision.
According to Huckabee’s disclosure reports, he accepted more than 300 gifts worth at least $130,000, ranging from $3,700 cowboy boots to a $600 chainsaw and $250 worth of dental care.
Christmas must be a real b***h when you are a politician.
Let's go after him for policy -- not petty s**t!

I'm all about spending MY money; I just prefer that OTHERS not spend MY money.
I'd be VERY happy if budget items needed at least a 60% vote in the House to pass. And I'd also like to see Conference Committees made up of 50-50 on both sides of the Aisle in both chambers. But then again, I'm completely happy with gridlock if it prevents great gobs of unexamined spending stops.
paid for those boots. Somebody's making a good living at that cobbler's shop.
My primary car gets me from A to B with high mileage and I don't owe anything for it. My other car is even smaller and lighter, but needs about $500 in work that will have to wait until after Xmas. That's all I have tied up in transportation aside from the inescapable fuel and maintenance costs.
how cheap Republicans can be bought.

that should be "politicians" in general. It's just that we expect it from Democrats. We just don't pay attention to Democratic greed and corpulence until the dollars are big enough to need to put in a freezer.
Bubba Jr is in the process of committing sanctimonious suicide, I'm guessing they'll just him bloviate.
You're down to (nt) now, huh? No "...but you should see what [insert candidate name] did..." anymore?

...such as the "wedding registries" charge. It's easy to write off people who continue to make this allegation.
Huckabee said the registries at the Target and Dillard's Web sites were set up as wedding registries because there was no separate category for housewarming parties.

That in a state that produced the Clinton's, Huckabee's "ethics issues" are the result of a desire from those in the Democratic Party to ensure he wasn't elected Governor or to a second term? Becuase that has never happened before!?!?!? There seems to be a lot of judging without any real evidence going on here. When did a decision from any judicial body declare that Huckabee took illegal gifts or did any other wrong doing for that matter?
The only good thing from these posts is that it seems to be the same small group of you eager to tear a fellow Republican down. In the same breath that you call Huckabee corrupt, Sandra, you tell us you are voting for Rudy "Bernard Kerik would make an excellent Secretary of Homeland Security" Giuliani? Ya' know, the same Rudy Giuliani that was in bed with his third wife before he divorced the second one... and we are worried about what the press will report on Mike Huckabee?
"I believe in grace, because I have seen it. In peace, because I have felt it. In forgiveness, because I needed it."
-George W. Bush
And, I will support him if he is the nominee. My problem is that it was hard to swallow the "vast left wing conspiracy" theory. I was disappointed to hear him defend things that were questionable, with the "they were out to get me."
It is very unfair that the media never lets go of anything when it is a Republican. The same thing happened to Newt, with bogus ethics charges and look what it did to his career.
As far as Giuliani, everything is already out there. He's been the front runner for a while now. My problem with Huckabee is that the media will hash out each of these issues and distract from the campaign.
You are defending him by saying Giuliani is corrupt. I'm wondering how values voters will defend him.

That did remind me a lot of the Clintons.
"The lawsuit also dealt with Huckabee’s assertion that $70,000 worth of furniture donated to the governor's mansion was his to keep."
Didn't the Clintons do the same thing when moving out of the White House?
No one ever answered my question as to how conservative values voters will defend this, if Huckabee is the nominee. I don't think that "the Clintons did it too" will be good enough. The Democrats/Corruptocrats are running on the culture of corruption in the GOP. They won in 2006 by using this.
The MSM only goes after Republicans for even the appearance of corruption. They will have a hay day with this!

Chuck Norris seems to be quite impressed with him.

Huckabee is s Geroge Bush clone. He favors big government spending, illegal aliens, etc.
The only conservative position they support is pro-life.
One "compassionate conservative" a century is one too many.
