Bouchard wins an impressive victory! A new Michigan begins now!!!
Sheriff Mike Bouchard pulled off an impressive victory statewide to win the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate. Democrat Senator Debbie Stabenow and Mike Bouchard couldn't be more different. Bouchard, a businessman, law enforcement officers, anti-tax, pro strong defense, pro strong border/immigration reformer vs Debbie Stabenow, who has done nothing to help the harrd-working tax-paying families of Michigan, voting to increase taxes over 100 times; done nothing to protect our borders, as she opposes building a fence along our borders to keep illegal immigrants out of our country, voted against increased funding to hire more border security guards and then voted to "give" Social Security to ILLEGAL immigrants and their families.
Debbie Stabenow has a record that does NOTHING to represent the voters of Michigan. She is wrong for Michigan and wrong for America.
Mike Bouchard can help provide the leadership necessary to help bring Michigan back. As he said last night, a new Michigan begins now!
Keith Butler ran a great campaign and made many new friends statewide. More importantly he articulated our Republican values and reached out to non-traditional Republican voters. One reporter asked me what “Butler’s campaign” meant to Republicans, and I said Keith represents the future of the Republican party, optimistic, conservative, hopeful and broad based. Keith Butler changed the face of the Republican party in Michigan and is one of the leaders in spreading our message to a new Republican majority nationwide.
I’ve worked with Keith over many years, decades in fact, as a conservative Republican activist. He is a fine man who has much to offer and I’m sure we have only begun to see his potential and talents as he joins with all of us to defeat Debbie Stabenow and help put Michigan back to work.
Dick DeVos emerged as our party’s nominee in his unopposed Republican primary. As the DeVos campaign continues to spread his vision for Michigan, he and his campaign will now be working with Mike Bouchard as we put a clear choice before the people of Michigan…policies and records of failure from Graholm and Stabenow….or a brighter future, a choice, a change, with DeVos and Bouchard.
I think the choice is clear.
Later this month we will round off our ticket by re-nominating Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land and Attorney General Mike Cox in what will be one of the most impressive Republican tickets we’ve seen in a long time. Michigan Republicans will be poised to win and ready for the challenges this fall.
Tim Walberg wins in Michigan’s 7th Congressional District. Congratulations!
In another tough fought primary, former State Representative Tim Walberg defeated incumbent Congressman Joe Schwarz in yesterday’s primary. This was a conservative district where the base voters came “home” and on a one on one basis, voted their philosophical base and elected Tim as our next nominee.
This is a strongly Republican district and Tim will be a great team player and addition to our Republican ticket. When I talked to Tim last night, he stressed that part of his goal was to help unite the party and make sure we win in November. I look forward to working with Tim and know he’ll be an asset to our delegation.
Congressman Schwarz served Michigan honorably and well over the last two years. We owe him a debt of gratitude for a job well done throughout his career. He dedicated his life to medicine and public service…and I’m sure there is more to come.
ONE MORE DAY…
Victory Center and Voter Vault Challenge…we’re taking on California.
Victory Centers are open. We need volunteer and the time and effort you put into helping us build Voter Vault, identify supporters and get additionally information on every voter in the state makes a huge difference.
Two weeks ago Michigan made more phone calls than any other state in the country. In fact, Michigan accounted for almost 1/3 of all the calls made in the country that week. California kicked it up last week and beat us out…and fired up our Victory Center Team.
In a flurry of emails between California GOP and Michigan GOP activist a challenge to match effort next week was made. We have been working all week to keep our momentum going and expand our efforts statewide. With our Republican ticket decided…let’s help make a difference.

Chairman
Michigan Republican Party
I now give you permission to add my e-mail address back to your mailing list, Saul. Walberg took nearly 70% of the vote in Lenawee County, and it was a real offense for the state party to come out an endorse Schwarz before we had our say at the ballot box.
If you would like to get back on my dialy email list, just send me a note, I'll be happy to add you back.
Just for the record, the MI Republican Party did NOT endorse Schwarz...or any other candidates in the primary. We normally don't.
I personally endorsed Joe, along with Chuck Yob and Holly Hughes...as Chairman, not the party.
When Schwarz mistakenly used our personal endorsements and referred to tham as the State Party's endorsement, I sent the campaign a letter and copied our State Committee and County Chairs to make sure we cleared things up. If you would like a pdf of the letter, mention it in your email and I'll be glad to send it along.
I've had a chance to talk with Walberg since the election. Our teams are meeting to join forces and make sure he wins in November. I'm sure he'll do a great job representing us in Congress and if I'm Chairman next time around, I'll be supporting our incumbent Tim Walberg!
Take care.

I've been VERY angry with the way the Michigan Republican party and most of it's top candidates in Michigan have announced their opposition to the Michigan Civil Rights Initiative (MCRI) amendment.
For those of you unfamiliar with MCRI, it is a ballot initiative that would eliminate affirmative action in public university admissions and governmental hiring within Michigan. Affirmative action is nothing more than reverse discrimination and goes against every principle that conservatives hold to be sacrad.
One of the top leaders of this movement is a WOMAN that was denied admission to a university due to reverse discrimination.
Many of the Republican leaders and candidates who oppose this measure to end reverse discrimination claim to be conservatives.
If the Republican party, the party of Abraham Lincoln which was responsible for the end of slavery in the U.S., won't stand up for equality, who will?
