237 Days until Election Day
MORNING UPDATE:
McCain was in NH yesterday and The Union Leader reports: that while talking to reporters aboard his “Straight Talk Express” bus, McCain said he disagreed with the Republican National Committee’s decision last year to punish New Hampshire, Michigan, Florida and South Carolina Republicans for holding primaries prior to the Feb. 5 date allowed by an RNC rule. He said he supports overturning RNC-imposed sanctions that cut those states’ delegations by half.
I addressed the House Republican Campaign Committee candidate school yesterday…what a great group of candidates…ready to take back the House Majority!
Michigan Democrats are getting pushed into a corner…a mail in “do-over” doesn’t seem to be realistic …both sides and all sides are concerned about the ability to “manipulate” the vote. A Dem ONLY primary is a possibility…but ONLY if 100% of the costs are reimbursed to the Secretary of State and local units of government.
No “do-over” at taxpayer’s expense.
In Michigan, McCain Leads Both Obama and Clinton by 3% in the latest Rasmussen poll. We can make the difference!!!
THE REST OF THE STORY:
Rasmussen Reports: Michigan 2008 Presidential Election
Michigan: McCain Leads Both Obama and Clinton by Three
In Michigan, John McCain has a very modest advantage over both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton during the early stages of Election 2008. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey found McCain leading Clinton 46% to 43% and Obama 44% to 41%.
McCain leads both Democrats by double digits among men and trails by single digits among women. Nationally, McCain and both Democrats are locked in a close race as measured by the Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll.
Michigan has cast its Electoral College votes for the Democrat in four straight Presidential elections and it would be difficult for Obama or Clinton to reach the White House without carrying the state. However, the economically devastated state has been trending Republican in recent elections-Bill Clinton won Michigan by thirteen points in 1996, Al Gore won by five in 2000, and John Kerry won by just three points in 2004.

With the spread at only 3 points I have to ask what the margin of error is. I guess at least McCain's not 15 points down, which is a good thing.
You have to wonder at what point will Michigan wake up. I suspect one day someone will take one of those nightime photos from space that show all the lights and industrial activity. (Remember the one of the Korean Peninsula?)
Perhaps when all the lights are out in Ohio and Michigan will the foolish voters figure it out. But then it's way too late, and the Red Wings will be playing in Charlotte.

MI will be close so we need to donate $$ to help Nader get on the ballot. Give the Looney left a choice donate $25.00 to Votenader.org
if his interview on Hannity&Colmes goes well. He needs to do well with this since it has been advertised so heavily. Sean has been talking about it for weeks on his Radio show, but he says he is going to ask the questions Conservatives want answered. Hope McCain thinks before he speaks tonight.
I really hope McCain has gotten what he needs to do so he makes us current "non-believers" start to warm to him. Otherwise he will lose us by either sitting it out or voting 3rd party/Write-In's.
If you've heard any of his speeches thus far this year, they have all been chalk full of conservative themes. Specifically, he hits on fiscal issues like taxes, spending, and entitlements - issues that have been severely neglected by Bush. He certainly wasn't my first choice, but I like what I hear so far.

to get over to get to McCain than you do, but I hope he works on it because my digging tools have nothing left but nubs. But they can still dig.
today's conversation, you woudl be jumping on the Straight Talk Express. Heck, I'm even sending him some money after all these conversations.
BHO must be kept out of the WH.
Come on over, it really isn't so bad. We've all had to do it.
and will not go to the Dems side at all. McCain has a lot of work to get so many of us to warm to him. I do not need a sales job about how he is right. Most of us Non-Believers do not want to go Dems and most won't, but McCain needs to at least acknowledge he has been on the wrong side some of the time.
Really holding out hope that McCain can "get it" so we can at least stay in the same building together.
Will definately be watching Hannity & Colmes in 2 hours.
Not to bring out the anti-Romney crowd, but does having Romney on the ticket seal the deal in MI?

for the first time ever. I think some conventional working-class people (like the Detroit side of my family) who are democrats mostly because of union membership, are saying hey,
why has the south been booming economically and why do working people enjoy a decent standard of living without unions and high taxes?
Maybe it will sink in that unions have been part of the problem in MI, not a part of the solution.
