I recently read a news article regarding the British scientist who cloned Dolly the sheep, Ian Wilmut. He suggests cloning embryos to avoid genetic diseases and hereditary disorders. Mr. Wilmut does not think doing so is unethical or wrong; on the contrary, he believes that not doing so would be immoral!

If his procedure is used, the gap between the rich and the poor would take on a whole other dimension, with society divided between the genetically modified and those who cannot afford or choose not to have the procedure. The rich would live longer and healthier than the genetic ‘have nots’. Wilmut’s procedure could also be modified to produce smarter or stronger kids if it gains social acceptance. The parents could then choose what qualities they want their child to have. The children of the rich would become superhuman while the unprivileged live life knowing that they will be dumber, weaker, and less healthy than their peers. He apparently does not think this is a big deal.

By SoCon

I have always known that feminists were a little...off-kilter, shall we say. But nothing prepared me for what I saw one radical feminist (who goes by the name BitingBeaver) post on a publically-accessible, open forum:

"I know that there will likely come a day where my son coerces a young woman into sex (rape) and there isn't a damned thing I can do about it. I look into the eyes of my son and they still sparkle like they did when he was a baby, but he's not a baby anymore, he's growing into a man and that man will have trained himself to degrade women before he leaves my home.
