Obama to seek Higher Office

"The Republican party is not the only game in town for Christian voters."

Reports from Illinois indicate the U.S. Senator Barack Hussein Obama (D-IL) will seek his party's nomination for God in 2012. Speaking on condition of anonymity, sources close to the party said the charismatic Obama was just waiting for the right time to announce his intentions.

"Barack has always seen politics as a stepping stone to bigger and better things, and the Presidency is no different", the sources said, but Obama also wants to be known for his accomplishments. "He should be able to achieve universal prosperity, end government waste, and unite the world in peaceful harmony in three, maybe three and a half years, so a second term won't be necessary."

But to eliminate the far more dangerous threat of Global Warming, Obama says privately, he'll have to accept, however reluctantly, the mantle of Divinity.

As difficult as it is to believe, even Obama has his critics. Holy Assumption is not in his background, they say, pointing to his lack of formal religious training and relatively recent conversion to Christianity. Supporters counter by pointing out that new Christians are often less jaded. Along with his innate, Messianic purity of heart, that fresh attitude gives him an ability to solve longstanding, seemingly intractable problems just by being Barack Hussein Obama. Critics insist that no one is perfect, but supporters are confident that if annointed, Obama will be an outstanding God, probably one of the best ever.

Hillary Rodham Clinton is publicly noncommittal about Obama's heavenly future. She is rumored to have noted the similarity between Obama and her husband, 2000 Democratic Party God nominee and former President Bill Clinton.

While neither Democrat nor Republican party authorities could be reached for this story, one watcher of religion in politics said of Obama,"The Republican party is not the only game in town for Christian voters.”
