Manufacturing Obama: He "worked his way through college" with two summer jobs

Barack Obama is a liar. We know this by now. He lies about what he used to say or think. And he lies about his personal background. For example, he said that he compared his upbringing to Hillary Clinton's elite upbringing. Never mind that he went to the most prestigious prep school in Hawaii, paid for by his grandma, who was VP of a bank.
This time he is saying in his most recent ad that he "worked his way through college and Harvard Law". FactCheck.org fact-checked and it turns out that it isn't true. He had two (2!) jobs during college and graduate school. From Fact Check:

The only back-up the campaign provided for this claim was a quote from Obama's book "Dreams from My Father" having to do with a construction job he had one summer while he was in college, and an article mentioning his job as a summer associate one year at a big Chicago law firm. We asked campaign spokesman Tommy Vietor if Obama held jobs during the school year, or other summer jobs, but he said only, "He had the two jobs I told you about." Unless Obama had a good bit more employment than his spokesman was able to describe for us, it's a real stretch to claim he "worked his way" through school.
Now I wouldn't argue that I "worked by way though college" but I did work a 20+ hour/week job during the school year and full time during the summer and all vacations.
Sees like the only change he is going to bring to Washington is that of better acting.
I think obama should cool down talking about his college jobs and his biography. After all it is not a qualification to be President.
A person's honesty is the best judge of his character.
have both been working 25+ hours a week (normally around 35) for the last fews years while full-time in college so we could pay for food a roof over our head.
Sorry Obama, but even if you did work for 2 summers during college, that doesn't mean you "worked you way though." It means you had someone else paying for most, if not all of you living expenses, and you earned some beer money when it was convenient for you to do so.

there could literally be about 70 ads pointing out Obama's lies. From policy to Reverend Wright to his advisors to his supporters to his background to his beliefs..
and we have not seen ONE. Obama knows what we are just figuring out. McCain's campaign team is either too weak or incompetent to touch his lies, so he can say whatever he wants whenever he wants..

I am the most conservative and most honest one here. We all know that Obama has weaknesses but his followers are not coming on THIS site and reading about them. Lets be honest, the way to beat Obama is not to get his followers to change their minds (that can't be done), the way is to get TRUE conservatives to believe in McCain. That is going to be hard since Mccain has branded himself as a "maverick" and a traitor to the cause of conservatism for many many years (decades).

I think it's great if Howard Dean worked his way through college and medical school, too. I'm sure he's a great doctor. He's still among the very last Democrats I'd want as president.
Barry's probably great with the community organizing stuff he's done and I have no reason to doubt he's competent at practicing law. I'm just not ready to go macro with some of his policy ideas.

Seems like that would pay for the vast majority of college unless you went to an expensive private school and had no scholarship.
I can't believe Obama would say he worked his way through college when he worked two summer jobs. I worked two Summer jobs in college and I am glaring aware of the fact that I had it easier than a lot of people. I shouldn't be surprised... but this is just such blatant lying. People aren't going to vote based on whether Obama lied about working his way through college, but I do think that most Americans would be appalled by an Ivy League graduate claiming to have done so when he did not. It might be something worth running ads about sometime in August or September to give him bad press for a few days.

While in college (the first time) I worked part time for 2 years and then held at least 2 jobs for 3 years (except for when I was on internship)
I ended up not finishing school and I am going at it again now.
now I work full time (40 to 60 hours a week) plus take full time classes via a wholly online university.
I have no scholarships or grants, but instead I sacrifice EVERYTHING that I used to do for fun for the sake of bettering myself.... so that I can pay out of pocket.
Want to know something, Senator Obama?
People have to do more than I do to go to college.
You have no room to speak, no authority by which to speak, or enough intelligence to speak on 'working through' college.

I head at least 2 jobs at the same time for three years. Security was always one, but I also spent time as a short order grill cook and also a computer technician.
