Election Journal interviews Clarence Yancey, who has served as Kentucky's 43rd legislative district Democrat Chairman since 1982. EJ notes:

If candidates are looking to pay workers on election day, then they come to Clarence. A big election like this primary typically runs for about $100 per person. With 500 people working for Clarence this election, our math says $50,000 deployed in the 43rd.

Formally known as Deagle... "Golf is a way of life..."

Machine politics exists for a reason: it works, and as long as nobody gets too greedy it doesn't work badly. What bugs me is that when people pretend that if it happens, it only happens to The Other Guy.

The Fuzzy Puppy of the VRWC. I've been usurped!

It's so confusing. It's so difficult to know who to vote for these days, the arguments are so complex and the people just don't know who to believe.

See, a guy like that can really make a difference in people's lives.

This is completely ridiculous. When did winning elections become more important than letting people have a voice? John McCain seems to be the only one who is above the "permanent campaign"
