Democrat: "I'm voting for John McCain, are you kidding me?"

By Soren Dayton Posted in | | | Comments (134) / Email this page » / Leave a comment »

So says a Democrat at today's meeting of the Democratic National Committee's Rules and Bylaws Committee. Watch the vid, H/T Marc Ambinder:

Tasty quote:

When you tell me that much bad news about someone, I start to panic. Suddenly it's no longer about being a Democrat. It's about being an American. It's about preserving the United States of America.

That's a Democrat speaking. But I am sure that the Democrats will argue that she's a racist.

RIGHT ON, BABY!!

Hey, if she can vote McCain, I can't not.

You may not be interested in war, but war is interested in you.

Obama: "Change You Can Believe In"?
He just changed his church! He'll change anything to get elected.

"ma deuce says no TUCC truthers"

The numbers seem to show that around 25% of Hillary's supporters prefer McCain to the Black Osama.

I'm starting to get excited about November after months of distress about Romney getting edged out and McCain getting kicked around by the press.

The dems should be scared. They may control the Congress but they will probably not get the White House back for at least 8 more years.

Thank Rush and all of his noble supporters for Operation Chaos!

Barack now has to figure out how to win back the voters in Florida and Michigan that he is busy spurning.

I don't know how much the newbie knows about politics, but it's awful hard to be president once you've pissed off those two states.

Michael Moore ought to do a documentary about BHO's disenfranchisement of Florida and Michigan voters. There's much more to that than the Republican conspiracy theories he's so vested in.

Proudly supporting John S. McCain for President (McCain/Romney?)

Even if Hillary was able to seat Florida and Michigan delegates with full voting rights instead of half voting rights, she still would not have enough delegates.

The critical thing for her campaign was to recognize the Florida and Michigan primaries so that in the populare vote totals, her votes would be included.

She is now ahead in the popular vote, and will remain so thanks to Puerto Rico (where she could win by a six digit margin).

So in terms of what she needed, Hillary won.
By having the loudest protestors, Hillary won.
By having the media focus primarily on the pro-Hillary protestors, Hillary won.
By pushing back the goalposts of delegates needed by Obama for victory, Hillary won.

The MSM is both stupid and totally in the tank for Obama. The inability to see even one move ahead is striking.

I actually feel sorry for Hillary Clinton.

Amen.

Barack Obama is the miracle candidate. He actually makes the Clintons look good and that's a miracle.

The Clinton's lying snake in the grass machine finally got outmuscled, and I can't believe that Redstaters who I know and respect are buying into the sexism in the Democratic party BS. Hillary Clintons got as much balls as any other man in the Democratic Party, and the Clinton machine got outslugged by Obama and the Daley machine. It has nothing to do with Clinton's gender, as much as her tears, witch cackle and mood swings would have us believe otherwise. It has to do with the voters rejecting the politics of the lying snake in the grass, national security failures of the Clinton regime, and even Democratic voters knowing that the Clinton's were going to bring out the GOP ire if we ran Mickey Mouse, who at this point would still be a better candidate than the one we've decided to run. Now she gets outmuscled and gets hit harder as if the Clintons played a clean fair fight, and mean old Obama wouldn't leave her alone. Here's the secret of the Democratic Party-Pfelger was right, and the real racists never left the Democratic party.

Photobucket The trouble with our

Hillary is getting the votes of a lot of Reagan Democrats. Reagan democrats are getting screwed. That fact that they and her are bound together in disappointment does in an odd way make me feel sympathetic to Hillary.

Hillary's demise is indicative that the rabid left is on the ascendancy, and that does make me sad.

Her demise at desire and backstabbing of the MSM is something I can share some solidarity with, so yes, I am sympathetic.

Doesn't mean I want her to win, or that I would ever vote for her. Do I think the fact that Barak "empty suit" Obama defeated Hillary is a good sign for the electorate or the country? Heck no.

At least with respect to foreign policy, Hillary would be significantly better than Obama. The willingness of the democrat party to nominate the ghost of McGovern/Carter is a sad thing. To the extent that Hillary represented the opposite, her defeat is sad.

You may recall that Hillary tried to position herself as a hawk on foreign policy a coupld of years ago. Admitedly, it was likely 99% positioning and 1% conviction, but her campaign failed as a result.

Bottom Line: If Hillary embraced the MoveOn.org position on Iraq at the beginning, she would have walked away with the nomination.

The fact that she took a different road and was defeated because of it does make me sad.

I would enjoy Hillary being defeated for articulating socialism. I shudder at Hillary being defeated for a Scoop Jackson foreign policy.

Using a sports analogy, you often get late hit penalties and technical fouls when you are a 30 point favorite and you lose. Hillary's camp is in shock. They never even considered the option that they would lose this "game". This is Appalachian State beating Michigan. I know I'm sounding like that nutty priest, but never in her worst nightmare did Hillary even fathom that she would not be the Democratic nominee. I know we are in full anti-Obama mode (and rightfully so), but unlike the gang at Fox News, I can't even pretend to feel sorry for Hillary, if Obama has ensured that she will never be the POTUS, then that is the only thing I can give Obama credit for. She is still the same left-wing nutjob that she was when she was the chosen one for the Democratic nomination.

getting usurped by a rookie shyster.

Democrat for McCain
The Democratic Party of my parents and grandparents is no more.

it would be great if there are many like this woman who are actually patriotic Americans still and care about the country. They are definitely a dying breed in the democratic party..

that is hilarious that she made a better campaign commercial for McCain than McCain has made so far..

well not really.

"Small town folks get bitter after which they cling to guns or religion, or antipathy to people who aren't like them, or anti-immigrant sentiment"- Barack Carter Obama

it would be great if there are many like this woman who are actually patriotic Americans still and care about the country

What do you mean? I was before today, and still am, an Obama supporter - does that make her somehow more patriotic than me?

If Hillary concedes on Wednesday, then all superdelegates can back Obama and Michigan/Florida can be seated in full, with full voting rights, and everything will be fine. In other words, the best thing that can happen for the FL/MI delegations is for Hillary to stop talking about defending FL/MI and drop out.

Obama supporter = patriotic? You must be kidding. LOL.

Obamabots are the most anti-American traitors.

Write a statement that you would deem to be unpatriotic if spoken by an American.

Patriots like us know unpatriotic statements when we hear them. You go first.

1) really? Is what I said really controversial?

2) If y'all want to win over Obama supporters, calling them all unpatriotic is probably unhelpful.* Even if you decide you don't need Obama supporters to win, bridging the partisan divide (which McCain seems like he would want to do) would be aided by not calling the other side unpatriotic. Even if you don't wanna do that, growing your party and winning people over to your point of view would also be helped.

3) On a website that seems to pride itself on civil discourse, is an assertion that all Obama supporters (specifically every last one, all 17 million who have voted for him, as well as the ones who didn't vote for him but support him, and throw in the ones who support Hillary but would vote for him over McCain) are unpatriotic really going to go unchallenged by anyone except me?

4) Anyway, I digress. How about "I hate America" (and not just said late one night while drunk and/or upset, but really meaning it on a deep level, whatever that means).

*I know you didn't, but someone else did, I responded, and you are seemingly taking their side. In the least, you responded to me and not to the other person.

The fact that I "passed the test" has no bearing on any of this. A lot of people would react indignantly and refuse to go along, being all like 'who are you to "test" me?' it wouldn't make them unpatriotic.

Obama supporter = patriotic? You must be kidding. LOL.

If I said this about McCain, or anyone else on the Republican side, I would prob get banned and everyone (including you I bet) would be yelling at me. But someone says it about Obama, and I am the only one to say anything.

On a totally unrelated note, question to anyone who wants to answer: Thomas Jefferson - hypocrite for having slaves, or product of his time? I ask because Matt Yglesias was talking about it...

hah, made you look. now on to the main point...

The question mark in question (I think, correct me if you were referring to something else) was in the statement

Obama supporter = patriotic? You must be kidding.

My interpretatio is that the question mark is meant to convey incredulity/disbelief, like for example if I wrote "the dog ate your homework? you must be kidding."

There are two ways to read this. The first is that the equals sign is an implies sign, in other words he is expressing disbelief that being an Obama supporter makes one patriotic. The other is that he is expressing disbelief that it is possible to have an Obama supporter who is patriotic. I believe that the second is the intent here because it was in response to me saying that just because I support Obama, does not make me unpatriotic - in other words, that it is possible to have an Obama supporter who is patriotic.

My point is, he is saying that no Obama supporters are patriotic. Which is untrue.

Moe, if you are still reading this, LOOK BEHIND YOU!!! AAAAAAUGH!*

So as I see it here's the score...

Hypocracy VS

1) Killing of children (abortion)

2) Destruction of the innocence of youth (those who fight against Abstanance education)

3) Destruction of Covanant marriage (no fault divorce)

4) Disolution of the meaning of marriage (gay marriage and the fact that only 5% of Americans wait until marriage)

5) Absolution of personal responsibility (numerous entitlements, free healthcare, abortions, libral judges, light prision sentances, not trusting Americans with guns, voting in primaries)

6) An end to patriotism (thinking we're bad and shouldn't protect ourselves, our economy, our way of life)

7) Destruction of family (reducing parental rights, teen confidentiality, schools and society raising kinds instead of parents, anti-spanking laws, laws allowing kids to opt out of church, opt into BC and drugs, not be punished for bad behavior and running away...)

7 to 1 in favor of Republican Morality/Social Conservatives

So who are the hypocrites? Those who hold to no morality at all, but pretend to be educated and "enlightened"?...or those with strong values who occasionally fall short of their own ideal which they strive toward?? Republicans aren't hypocrits--but Democrats are the destroyers of society, family, and morality.

"If Hillary concedes on Wednesday, then all superdelegates can back Obama and Michigan/Florida can be seated in full, with full voting rights, and...

...everything will be fine."

Really. Problem solved. Shake hands and Moveon.

I am a Democrat, I am a patriotic American, and I have been saying exactly what this woman is saying for months now.

Hillary has the same policy positions of Obama. She too blames America first and she too wants to surrender in Iraq. If a person votes for her then isn't that treason in your view?

People are not thinking this through. This is the Clintons and their supporters. A few years ago...strike that...a few months ago the Clintons were the enemy and all of Red State was sure she was going to be the Dem nominee and destroy the country.

What a turnaround.

Just a few months back, many grimaced at the thought of McCain, threatening crossing over or writing in. Now, he seems to be the best thing since sliced bread or a pocket on a shirt. This gets more interesting by the day.

I can guarantee you there will be no writing in of candidates by the time this gets to November....all the disaffected conservatives realize that Obama is 100X worse than McCain because anything McCain does moderately Obama would do more marxist like and that is unacceptable.

Freedom of Religion NOT Freedom from Religion

If you're a true conservative, you should be nearly as critical of the GOP as you are of the Democrats.

To me, McCain's willingness to buck GOP orthodoxy can be a point in his favor--given that GOP orthodoxy has given us such disasters as 3,000 earmarks per year, plus this farm bill that just got passed, plus a congressional leadership that for too long has tolerated the likes of Craig, Foley, Cunningham, and Fossella, in their various corrupt antics.

I keep hearing how we should have a "true conservative" candidate. The issue that is rarely discussed, is that if there really were a "true conservative," he would have to be a reformer, nearly as critical of the GOP as he is of the Democrats. Given the track record of the GOP in this decade, any "true conservative" would necessarily have to be a party maverick, not a party loyalist. (Maybe even an insurgent, as Reagan himself was in 1976.) And guess what. That's what McCain has been.

I've never been angry with McCain for not being loyal to the GOP. Loyalty has to be deserved and it has to be earned. The GOP has given true fiscal conservatives little to be loyal to.

But it won't come before.

Our politicians are far too vulnerable now to use their energy on cleaning their own house. Everyone is going to be on the attack and praying hard that the public can be fooled one more time.

After lots of losses, we'll see reform.

That Democrats like McCain does not make him more attractive of a candidate to me.

It does, however, continue to prove the leftward swing of the RNC.

Dependence is Slavery.

Let's not get all hopeful about these Hillary supporters defecting to McCain. The pro-abortion folks, much like our anti-abortion folks, will realize that they will get more from Obama than McCain. Just like the spectre of conservatives voting for a Democrat or just sitting out has waned, so shall this. Once the campaign is truly over will battle truly be joined.

And I shall be ready and willing to do my part to save our country from Marxism and a Chamberlain foreign policy.

For older women who support Clinton, the pro-life position will NOT keep them from voting for McCain. We're old enough that our ovaries are done spitting out an egg each month. So the abortion issue no longer affects us PERSONALLY. Also, I know I have backed away from my once extremely "pro-choice" position due to the advances in medical technology. I'm still pro-choice, but it's not the litmus test for me as it once was.

Women of my generation put up with a lot of crap to get to where we are today in careers, etc. Older women who support Hillary are more than annoyed with younger women who not only support Obama, but dump on Hillary. So don't be surprised if we older women tell the younger women to go "f" themselves -- they can fight the abortion battle on their own.

Our ultimate control is, in fact, seating the delegation. So if a state decides that they are more vested in their own system, and they'll worry about getting seated later, okay, there's not much the party can do about that, except kick them out of the convention. And then I think the party would go through the following question: Is the bad publicity back home worth not seating them at the convention?

Okay, and, guess what? We would seat them at the convention. I mean, unless maybe they're Wyoming or a state that is so wildly Republican that we don't care, and we don't think we could ever win it.

In our case it's ideological differences. McCain while not great is so much closer to what any Republican want's it's not funny.

In their case it's about payoff. Which group is going to get paid off in this election. That is one whole nother kettle of fish.

"Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it."
-Thomas Paine: The American Crisis, No. 4, 1777

Those are the lasting ones that have historically doomed a party. Think of TR vs. Taft. It was an ideological split. McCarthy/Humphrey. Ideological on the war. Those are the splits that are hardest to mend. Because when you have an ideological split like the one McCain presents those that disagree can't be comforted with symbolic gestures. How do you feel when you think about McCain in charge of immigration policy or environmental policy?

Now think of Obama and Hillary. They are both socialists and blame America firsters. So are their supporters. There is no ideological break. So if Obama puts Hillary or some staunch Hillary supporter on the ticket that symbolic gesture can be the payoff.

That is what people aren't thinking about. We need to be worrying about our own party. What are we going to do for McCain to bridge the ideological divide with his own party.

in MA there is a groundswell of staunch democrats who are saying they will never vote for Obama. Sometimes I wonder just who the MSM is polling?

What is the most likely scenario? They will see the Democrat agenda and hold their nose to vote against it. Now what about the Democrats? Same thing. They will hold their nose and vote against the Republican agenda.

Do you think a feminazi Hillary supporter who wants an absolute right to an abortion, socialized medicine, and the US out of Iraq will vote for the Republicans or even stay home rather than vote against the Republican policy?

This always happens. Deaniacs would never vote for Kerry until they did. McCainiacs would never vote for Bush in 2000...until Gore spoke and they did.

It always happens.

-------------------------------------------------------------
I am a Positivist Pastafarian for the alliteration alone.

Is that the respective primaries were "over" well before this Obama/Clinton saga. Clinton voters (depending on what math you use) can claim near 50% support for their candidate. It's one thing when your guy or gal is getting 1/3 or 1/4 of the vote and you are "sore" about losing. It's quite another when you can "legitimately" claim you are not losing which is the argument Clinton and her supporters are making.

Another difference is Obama is getting ALL of the yellow dog Democratic voters (i.e. blacks, homosexuals and white liberals). If THOSE were Clinton supporters and they said they weren't voting for Obama, then I would have no doubt they would come "home" to the Democratic canidate.. However, the Clinton voters are working-class whites and rural "county courthouse"-types and those voters very well may stay home or cross-over to McCain rather than vote for an "urban" left-winger who supports homosexual marriage and is strongly against the 2nd Amendment.

People forget that. Hillary is promising to get out of Iraq quicker than Obama. She is calling his healthcare plan right-wing simply because it lacks the mandates of her socialized plan. These are the things luring her voters. The more populist rhetoric. How is that good for McCain? They are whites and rural folks who want big-daddy government to take care of them and their finances. How in the world does that help McCain get them?

Historically a primary fight over ideology is much more damaging than one over personality. Obama and Hillary are fighting over personality and identity politics. That is much easier to fix. If Obama selects her as his running mate then this fight is over. If Obama takes one of her prominent supporters or someone who appeals to the same base (John Edwards), then this fight is over. Meanwhile we have a nominee that opposes the base on issues like immigration, global warming, etc. We need to figure out how to fix our mess rather than hope against history that the dems can't fix their mess.

-------------------------------------------------------------
I am a Positivist Pastafarian for the alliteration alone.

so for them, this is harder to fix.

For the Republican party, ideological fights are harder to fix

If you are right then if Obama picks a woman or picks Hillary then this fight is fixed.

We know there is no argument over their socialism. They and their supporters agree on socialism. That means it is easy to come back together with an affirmative action ticket of black man/woman.

If Obama picks Hillary fight is fixed.
If Obama picks Edwards fight is fixed.
If Obama picks Richardson fight is fixed.

I don't see this as the best Dem Primary Ever. I see it as politics as usual. They will come together. They will get most of their voters. They've turned out more than any primary in history. They have beat us in special elections on our turf.

We have to get to work and quit watching from the peanut gallery. McCain needs to pick someone young tough and conservative. Jindal!

and which the MSM wants to hide, is the race factor. And it is still a factor, especially in the South. Those Reagan democrats, the white, southern democrat, will never vote for Obama. They will vote for McCain, however, which is why Obama will not win one Southern state. Given his poor showing in Pennsylvania and his refusal to campaign in the primary in Michigan, please show me an electoral situation in which he can win the Presidency. I have yet to see one.

and they rejected Obama AFTER we all found out who he is. Obama won the white male vote in GA before all the rev wright et al stuff came out.

Now I grant you there is racism in the dem party incl in the south, but the real bradly factor was found by m barone in the wine and cheese crowd in new hampshire dems.

but Hillary won the white, male vote in Georgia by 49-46%. By the way, I never mentioned the white male vote. I was referring to both sexes. That vote accounted for only 16% of the total. Hillary also won the white female vote, 62-36%, which accounted for 26% of the total. It looks to me like many of those white males stayed home.

Obama got 91% of the black male vote and 88% of the black female vote, which combined was 52% of the total vote. When the Republican voters are included in November, his black vote total will represent only about 25% of the total vote, about in line with the past three presidential elections. Since Gore got 92% of the Georgia black vote in 2000 and Kerry got 88% in 2004, I don't expect Obama to do significantly better. Incidently, Georgia's black turnout rate was one of the worst in both 2000 and 2004.

Like Kerry, Obama will suffer at the hands of the white voter. He could barely get 40% of it in Georgia against Hillary. He will be lucky to get 30% of it in November. Given that, McCain will win the state by at least 10 points. Yes, racism is alive and well in the Georgia democrat party.

he may have won it.

Nothing like the hillary margins after rev wright came out.

obama's black vote has been 90+% all thru the revelations

His white vote has dropped as more rev wrights came out

when he was still black but when no one knew he was radical from a hate america church.

It was in northern or middle states that voted after the revelations and thats when his white support dropped.

race had less to do with it than what came out

here at Red State, I will simply say I expect the current election to reach even lower historical turnout numbers than any previous election, and not by some miniscule amount. Figure anywhere from 10-25% of Republicans and Dems who have previously voted will sit this one out. That's going to be the October surprise that gets delivered to the Dems in November. They believe their base is energized to kick out the Bush administration*. The current fight amongst themselves means it will end in the usual knife fight between the Rep and the Dem nominee, not the blow out for the Presidency they are expecting. McCain might even win over Obama because he understands a bit about knife fighting. The problems will have Republicans will be downstream where Dems are likely to win commanding, possibly overriding majorities. Frankly, I don't see anything that can stop that so I'm just getting ready to ride out the storm. It's gonna be a duzie.

This country is still 51/49. McCain has a reasonable chance to be president. There is no doubt about that. But I think it is wrong to assume this won't be a high turnout election. The differences are so stark and the country is in bad shape. That is enough to drive turnout. Each voter has something to spur them to vote. No matter what their pet issue is. Global warming advocates on both sides. The war partisans on both sides. Economy partisans on both sides. Gay marriage advocates. etc etc.

This election is shaping up to be a huge turnout. Not for either candidate, but for issues.

Look around. HOW is the USA in bad shape? Spell it out.

I see a nation at a crossroads (with quite a few more down the road, in either direction). We can get even better than we are now, or slide down a few rungs, or not change at all. And no matter which we choose, we will get another chance to choose a different path in a few more years.

For example, The USA in 1970 was in decent shape. Then we chose to go bad for awhile and by 1979, we were hurting very badly. Then we chose the good road. Then we chose mediocre for 12 years. Then we chose mediocre again, but got a surprise and got better for going on 8 years.

Do we choose well, mediocre or poorly this time? Will we be surprised this time?

and no, the Republicans have not come together (here - most just quit posting) regarding McCain and neither will the Democrats (for different reasons). Seems that reality politics will still play a role. This site "coming together" is not even close to expressing the Republican vote (or lack of) and the Democrat electorate will express their displeasure similarly. A grand time will be had by all...

...on anything. We had McCain supporters among both the commenters and the Contributors; and as they've had the mother-wit to not act like Obama supporters are currently acting towards Clinton ones, the rest of the Contributors at least were able to gracefully switch allegiance once it was clear that we had a nominee.

The Democrats should be able to do the same - but whether they're likely to do it is a whole different issue. The acrimony being displayed by them is pretty strong.

Who supported McCain during the immigration debacle? Before New Hampshire I remember maybe one or two people backing McCain. When he started winning people began to articulate a pragmatic argument for his electability.

...in terms of Presidential politics, but rather in ideological positions; so I'm not exactly sure what your point is. Although you may be thinking about how the various political positions of various candidates informed who people ended up supporting in the primary.

Look, I'm not saying that things were sweetness and light, but even at its worst the GOP primary bitterness level never approached the nigh-open warfare going on right now over on the Democratic side. And thank God for that.

And not only did it disqualify him for many, but it was the prediction of his doom in the primary according to most if not all on this site and in the media.

If you look at predictions of conventional wisdom, McCain was dead and Hillary was the undisupted democrat nominee. Now look at us. We think McCain can hold the base and lure Hillary Clinton supporters.

Look, people feel very strongly on things like immigration and will still vote for McCain because he is the lesser of two evils. People have had time to cool off and are coming around. My argument is that the same thing will happen with dems. Right now hillary's supporters are angry because Obama is the bad guy. In a month hillary will have endorsed Obama and McCain will be the target. This is how it works in politics. We all know that and must not be blinded by the wishful thinking that this will split the party.

conform and celebrate diversity....or else!!!

If Obama loses in November she has to be set up to not take the blame. These people are politicians. McCain endorsed Bush in 2000 right after Bush called him a psycho with a black baby. McCain was setting up for a future run by being a good party person. Hillary will do the same thing. Even McCarthy eventually endorsed Humphrey for crying out loud. This is how politics works. It is sort of like pro wrestling. People can be bitter enemies one day and then best friends the next. It is a fraud. It is fake. But it happens. Remember...Mitt Romney endorsed McCain after assaulting him for months and monts and having McCain spew bile about his character. This is what happens.

She would have no future in the party if she doesn't endorse him. This is true on both sides. Which is why Romney endorsed McCain. Why McCain endorsed Bush. Why Dean endorsed Kerry. etc. These people are politicians in the end. There is no power in saying "I told you so". The party would blame her. If she helps him and then he loses she can say "I told you so" and have a good case for being the nominee in 2012.

There is no reason at all to expect Hillary to refuse endorsing the nominee.

Will endorse the winner. The question is: Will the endorsement come too late?

As you said, cooler heads have prevailed in the Rep Party. People are coming around to McCain as the lesser of the evils. The problem the Dems have is that they might not have enough time. If they fight all the way to the convention, it's over for them. They'll still be hot and bothered when Nov comes around. If they can resolve this within the month, then they have a real (terrifying) chance.
IF.

I'm actually hoping that a lot of these angry Hillary supporters stay at home on election day.
If they are hardcore Dems that are simply mad at Sen. Obama then they are likely to be still voting for other Dems downticket after checking Johnny Mac's name.
If they sit at home and don't vote at all perhaps a few extra GOP Congresscritters sneak in.
Just a thought.

Fortunately, I do believe many of them will vote for McCain. Unfortunately, I do believe many of them will split their ticket and vote for Dems for Congress.

...a bit more than I prefer seeing.

It will now stop.

(and of course, you have the final word here), but I would argue that Obama's policies and practices -can- be considered treasonous, in outcome if not in intent.

I would say Obama (an educated idiot -- the legal profession is full of 'em) would be considered a traitor on the same level as would somebody who inadvertantly gave up State secrets to North Korea, simply because he didn't know who he was talking to. The intent to harm may not be there, but the outcome remains the same.

When you embrace policy, and actively work to undermine America's foundational values, sovereignty and security (again, looking at outcome rather than intent), what else can you call it?

.

but basically, the outcome is the same as if Obama were actively committing treason. It makes little difference what you want to call it, if it ends in undermining our sovereignty, security and founding principles.

.

Treason is at heart a betrayal of country. Well-intentioned but wrong policies are not a betrayal. They're just stupid.

To equate stupidity with treason is demeaning and robs us of a word to use to the real betrayers of our country.

HTML Help for Red Staters

I'll submit and avoid calling it treason -- until, you know, the evidence continues to pile on and prove the word usable in Obama's case (which it still may -- let's face it, his buddy Ayers really is a traitor, after all).

.

But we're lacking some concrete evidence that Obama is anything but a hapless little kitten whose wife is leading him around by his big flappy ears.

HTML Help for Red Staters

absolutely...
but the circumstantial stuff is starting to pile on.

to the extent that regardless of how or why, somebody they love is dead. I'm not suggesting a similarity in penalty... just a recognition that Obama will ruin our country just as assuredly as if he'd planned it.

.

Muddying the waters with incorrect terminology only helps those in position to profit from that kind of confusion.

More an abdication of old American ideology and beliefs than true treason. Stupid, harmful, and against American principals----but not actually against America the country, just America the idea.

I would rather have the so called " 4 more years of the same " than 4 years of the mysterious and unknown. The Democratic Party threw this election down the toilet when they forced Obama down our throats, just so they can say that their willing to have a black president.
