I wrote a blog about Barack Obama's weakness as a candidate (linked below), and about the overwhelming need for Republicans to reach out to Hillary Clinton's voters--who will be the official "swing voters" during the 2008 election.

Now, our own Moe Lane responded in a blog of his own (linked below), stating that it is indeed a good idea for Republicans to reach out to the "Hlllocrats" (as Pat Buchanan calls them and column linked below), as long as the Republican base is not simultaneously alienated in the process.

Yeah, yeah, I know. The conventional wisdom is that Barack Obama is this “rock star” and an unstoppable force that John McCain will completely succumb to. Well, I’m about to blow a hole through that theory big enough to drive a truck through. Yes, John McCain could still lose the general election to Barack Obama; however, his quest to beat Obama is not as quixotic as some might think. In actuality, Obama is really a weak nominee, who lost the popular vote to Hillary Clinton by over 300,000 votes, and who had to be dragged over the finish line by superdelegates (party elites) and the liberal media.

Posted at 2:49am on Jan. 10, 2008 How Obama Lost the New Hampshire Primary

Hillary Clinton didn’t really win New Hampshire last night, so much as Barack Obama lost it. People are, now, saying that the polls were inaccurate—poppycock. The polls were totally accurate—on Saturday, three days before the NH primary. Several things happened between Saturday and Tuesday to drastically change the outcome of the NH primary. And, no, it was not that, “The white voters of NH were speaking to the pollsters with forked tongues.” If you're curious, I actually heard Chris Matthews utter the previous quote this morning on “Morning Joe”—someone, please, stop this guy from making an even bigger fool out of himself than he already has, but I digress.
