By The Line
Cato Institute executive VP David Boaz blogs on the Ron Paul newsletter story.
Money quote: "And so it's understandable that over the past few months a lot of people have been asking why writers at the Cato Institute seemed to display a lack of interest in or enthusiasm for the Paul campaign. Well, now you know. We had never seen the newsletters that have recently come to light, and I for one was surprised at just how vile they turned out to be. But we knew the company Ron Paul had been keeping, and we feared that they would have tied him to some reprehensible ideas far from the principles we hold."

Posted at 4:04pm on Jan. 4, 2008 Very Sad
By The Line
I know the folks at Obsidian Wings aren't exactly popular in these parts, but this post by OW contributor Andy Olmstead (G'Kar), who was killed in Iraq yesterday, has to be one of the saddest and most beautiful things I've read recently.

Posted at 6:24pm on Nov. 29, 2006 Wondering about posters who cross "The Line"
By The Line
I'm a longtime lurker but first time poster here. I just wanted to raise an issue that I think deserves some discussion, but in the spirit of keeping this site focused on issues and avoiding unnecessary conflict, I thought it would be more appropriate to do so in a separate post (rather than an existing comment thread). I apologize in advance if this topic has been already covered.
Now it seems to me that guidelines for posting on Redstate were covered quite well by Adam C2 in his Redstate etiquette post and the subsequent comments by our esteemed editors (notably Thomas, who I believe coined the useful "pointy sticks"). But that having been said, I admit to being surprised at times when certain commenters are warned and (ultimately) cut-off.
