Posted at 7:24pm on Jul. 11, 2008 Senator McCain will get my vote.

By Tim Schieferecke

I wanted to take this opportunity to pass on a recent letter to the editor I read in the Topeka Capital Journal. It helped me soften my own hard opinion about Senator McCain.

http://www.cjonline.com/stories/070808/opi_301147857.shtml

Senator McCain will not only get my vote because he's not Obama, he will get it because he's a decent, honorable man. I've recently seen in him the ability to adapt to more conservative positions in the effort to meet current hard edged realities head on. As he does so, I would like to encourage others to reconsider Senator McCain with his recent improvements in mind. As opposed to Obama, this historical and existential election is too important for us to lose over the real but infinitely smaller disagreements we have with our candidate.

Posted at 11:36am on Jul. 10, 2008 The Fly-By Media

By Tim Schieferecke

Have you ever stopped to wonder why,
half told truths and half baked lies,
corrupt the press like deadly tumors,
withholding facts, extolling rumors?

Fluttering, fanciful, fanatic flies,
swarm and blitz storm our conservative skies.

They're species specific and parasites plain,
Elephantus Carnivorous, conservatives' bain.

Fluttering, fanciful, fanatic flies
have singular purpose and myopic eyes.

She's the Ma'am who feigns her life's in danger,
though in Who's Who pages found this "spy's" no stranger.
She sent her man to fake, the facts about yellow cake,
the lie that caused our Nation such great sorrow.

Secret Agent Ma'am, Secret Agent Ma'am,
you hate that we don't wonder, why your lies are oh so Plame.

Foreswear you weren't the one to send Joe to find,
the "reasons" for you libs to Iraq undermine.

Posted at 9:24pm on Jul. 1, 2008 My letter to the editor on the discharge petition for the Broadcaster Freedom Act

By Tim Schieferecke

I just wanted to post a quick diary in reference to a letter to the editor I wrote in the Topeka Capital Journal 6/.27/08. http://www.cjonline.com/stories/062708/opi_296139604.shtml
I'm letting you know about it to encourage you to do likewise. We need conservative talk radio to help protect our rights and see to it that truth is spoken on a daily basis or we're screwed. Please spend part of your time and conservative passion in the attempt to communicate to others not in the know.

Posted at 8:06am on Jul. 1, 2008 Patriotism- Darwinist vs. Originalist

By Tim Schieferecke

Yesterday when Senator Obama went to Independence, Kansas to talk about patriotism, it got me thinking. Now, I imagine there's about 300 million different exact versions of what it means to be a "patriot" in this country. From where I'm standing though, I reckon these 300 million versions can be classified down to two distinct groups, Originalist Patriots and Darwinist Patriots.

An Originalist Patriot is one that believes in the original meaning of our Constitution. An Originalist Patriot is one that jealously guards the God given rights layed down in that precious original document. An Originalist Patriot is one that puts no other document before the Constitution in deciding ANYTHING. When it comes to any sort of "change" in the fundamental meanings layed down therein, an Originalist Patriot demands the change be difficult to accomplish and never knee-jerked into existence.

Posted at 8:27pm on Jun. 27, 2008 "NUTS!" The answer to el Rushbo's dilemma on Obama

By Tim Schieferecke

When Rush was struggling a bit with the question of how to deal with Obama's daily flip-flops, out and out lies, and unscripted bumbling it got me to thinking. Obama needs a word of his own, a word that he can be nailed with, a word that needs no great understanding to comprehend. NUTS! is it. Let me tell you my favorite story about the word and its historical meaning to me.

First off, I'm a history buff. I love learning American history. I love personalizing it by digging into what historic figures were really like personally. I love the rough, tough, and unfiltered figures that made, make, and will continue to make this beloved Nation of ours great. I want to tell you about the respect I have for the 101st Airborne's WWII General Anthony McAuliffe, and how his resolve as the accidental Commander of the battered Bastards of Bastogne prevented the Germans from turning things around.

Posted at 11:19am on Jun. 24, 2008 Certainty vs. Uncertainty

By Tim Schieferecke

"You'll be fine, just keep'r in front of you Timbo", my Dad would always say. "If she circles you, circle with her." (Insert the sound of 1200 pounds of angry mamma cow, tongue hanging out, eyes a blazin' with focused hatred and fury at the audacious 120 pound kid holding her sick calf down, here). "Dad, she's gonna take me!" I'd yell, "hurry up! over and over while thinking of my own mortality, and how I was going to hold baby bovine down and keep turning with big mamma at the same time. Dad would eventually saunter over, a syringe or bolus pill in his calm hands. He'd walk right past big mamma to me and the calf, do his thing, and be smiling ear to ear the whole time.

By Tim Schieferecke

I've always wanted to do a satire with a Monty Python tune. This one seemed fitting under current circumstances.

There are few in this world worse than leftists.
Their core views for our power lack Zen.
Some of them truly follow Joe Stalin, but
we've never been one of them.

We're for drilling domestic.
And have been since before Al's E-Porn.
And the one thing we say about domestic is,

Posted at 9:24pm on Jun. 16, 2008 McCain is no Manchurian Candidate, but let's send him 52 Red Queens anyway.

By Tim Schieferecke

We do have a Manchurian Candidate, but I can assure you that it is not John McCain. While striking comparisons can be made between Senator Iselin and Senator Obama, Senator McCain does not "my friends" fit the mold.

No "my friends", John McCain is Ben Marco, but with one caveat. He never has understood the import of the prima facie facts staring him directly in the face. He's never awakened from the dream or slept to see the ending of what we all can see so plainly. As such, he doesn't understand the import of zealously fighting the Marxists at our door. Maybe he has dream interrupting sleep apnea.

Posted at 3:32pm on Jun. 5, 2008 Kathleen Sebelius held a reception for Tiller the Killer at the Kansas Governor's Mansion

By Tim Schieferecke

My leftist Governor Kathleen Sebelius is committing one political blunder after another. First, she stopped a 4 billion $$$ clean burning coal fired plant from being constructed. Then she lost us another 10-12 billion dollars in investment for an oil refinery because the investors were scared of her actions with said coal plant. She is out of control!

Now she has been caught holding a reception for George "Mengele" Tiller the killer in our Governor's Mansion. He is one of only a few partial birth abortion doctors in the U.S., and he has been one of her largest campaign contributors as well. I'm bringing this to your attention because I'm positive that Sebelius is on Obama's short list of Veep picks. In my estimation, he needs a woman with executive experience, and she fits that bill quite nicely. Please check out the following links from the Topeka Capital Journal and Operation Rescue. The O.R. link has pictures of Tiller the Killer with Sebelius in the mansion. He supposedly won an "auction" put on by the Greater Kansas City Women's Political Caucus that included the reception. I think I'll go swig some Pepto-Bismal, I'm feeling pretty sick from this.

Posted at 6:08pm on Jun. 4, 2008 Obama Karaoke - An Idea To Diminish His Speaking Impact

By Tim Schieferecke

When Rush was talking about how good of a speaker Obama was today, I had an idea. Wouldn't it be fun if we started an Obama Karaoke Contest? It would allow others with exceptional speaking abilities to read his exact speeches with intense drama and flair to show that they too can read a teleprompter. Since I'm going bald and have the typical 40 year old's beginnings of a tractor tire around my midsection, I wouldn't participate myself.

Posted at 8:56pm on Jun. 3, 2008 How to move Operation Chaos forward? Congressional Primaries and funding.

By Tim Schieferecke

As I listened to el Rushbo talking to Mona today, my grey cells were a twitter. When she asked what the strategy would be to carry the Op Chaos campaign forward, I must admit I've been obsessed with that very question too. While chaos has been achieved with the presidential race, I hope that Rush would consider the following suggestions from one of his aides de camp.

Congressional primaries- Focus on vulnerable races where so called "conservative" Ds hold office in traditionally conservative districts. Look specifically at any votes said Ds have made in regard to the war, taxes, and energy legislation (H.R. 6 of 2007) for one. A pitch fork mentality is taking hold in this nation against anyone who stands in the way of domestic drilling, and our party can take full advantage of this. Rush, Sean, et. al. could expose one Democrat per day's shortcomings on the air and endorse quality Republican alternates. They could have their staffs compile info obtained from loyal listeners in such districts and use their atomic bullhorns to "bring hope and change".

Posted at 11:45pm on May 22, 2008 The Shield Went Down, I Got One Through!

By Tim Schieferecke

I wanted to share a little victory I gained for us good guys on the right. The liberal Topeka Capital Journal wouldn't print it, but the more centrist oriented Topeka Metro News did. If you like it, try to stir things up a bit in your own district with something similar. Nancy Boyda D-Kansas 2nd District, eat your heart out!

"In the 1970s, OPEC became the scourge of energy uncertainty in the U.S.. They withheld oil from the markets and the price spiked sharply. They understood the economic principle of supply and demand instinctively. Gas lines formed, and our Nation suffered the effects of artificial supply suppression. OPEC eventually relented, because they were hurting their own bottom line.

Posted at 9:25pm on May 21, 2008 Can we get an open thread for congressional strategies?

By Tim Schieferecke

I really think more of our attention needs to be turned towards effective strategies to minimize or even turn the tide on the doom and gloom scenario being painted for congressional R's in November. It is really easy to get caught up in all things presidential race, but I believe that we do this at our own peril.

Let's face it, Obama is not going to win in November. He's getting beat by huge margins in the south, and will only squeak across the finish line for his own party's nomination. While it is fun to see just how big a fish in a barrel he is, we are wasting a lot of effort in not developing strategies to help our congressional Rs out. They need both coaxing and chastising to get their butts in gear. We still have time to do this, but it's dwindling.

Posted at 6:22pm on May 20, 2008 'Jackass' The Show Versus Jackass Elected Republicans

By Tim Schieferecke

Ok, I'll admit it. I loved watching Jackass when it was on t.v.. Where else could you have seen a dwarf jump out of the trunk of a car seemingly fleeing his captor and the resulting looks on people's faces? Where else could you have seen the meter maid fairy feeding the meters for folks whose time had expired? It was darn funny.

As a disclaimer, the show had the following warning before each episode. "Warning: The following show features stunts performed either by professionals or under the supervision of professionals. Accordingly, MTV and the producers must insist that no one attempt to recreate or re-enact any stunt or activity performed on this show." They did this to dissuade folks from being stupid. They gave the warning to prevent idiots from trying to out-idiot them. Even though it didn't always work, I'm sure it did give most pause before trying to light their own gas expulsions. Thus, it probably saved a lot of lives.
