Dead End in Damascus

The Washington Post's editorial page does it again, with another (almost all around) excellent editorial on Syria that for the most part dovetails with my own remarks. That is that the real failed policy has been that of engagement with Syria, as all delegates without exception have returned with one invariable result: absolute failure.
The title of the editorial says it all: No results in Damascus. In fact, the harsh sentence on human rights activist Anwar Bunni (which many dissidents in Syria are linking directly to the Pelosi visit) is yet another indication, as I have argued before, that the result of talks with Syria are not just useless, but in fact damaging. The net balance is negative, not even neutral.
that worries me. When we have the ranking Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee in 2002
flying to Syria. Someone should be asking why?
"SEN. ROCKEFELLER: No. The — I mean, this question is asked a thousand times and I'll be happy to answer it a thousand times. I took a trip by myself in January of 2002 to Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Syria, and I told each of the heads of state that it was my view that George Bush had already made up his mind to go to war against Iraq — that that was a predetermined set course which had taken shape shortly after 9/11."
Doesn't anyone care?
When we have the Speaker of the House flying to Syria and a few days later, the House and Senate vote to give the terrorists every thing they ask for.
Shouldn't someone be finding out what kind of deals were made?
patriotism. It would violate the tenets of NewTone™. Just like we can't question the judgment or the actions of CIA and NSA employees who pass on classified information to the NYT and WaPo.

to prove collusion with Assad, Pelosi can most certainly be classified as an enabler, along with those in her "delegation" that offered legitimacy and provided cover to Syria's dictator.

"If what has happened here is not treason, it is its first cousin. The ones responsible - be they staff or elected or both - should be dealt with quickly and severely sending a lesson to all that this kind of action will not be tolerated, ignored or excused."
Sen. Zell Miller, D-Ga.
I don't think it would be that hard to question their efforts
to undermine the President and America. It just takes finding people who still believe in America. Are there any such people left in government?

Must be time to send in Jesse Jackson. Or do they need to capture one of our pilots first?
