The Cost of Freedom

While reading the news and catching up on the latest condemnations of the USA by our supposed leaders I ran across an article that transported me back to my time of Military Service.

Here is the article from the Military Times. SSG Tabb was promoted posthumously to SFC (E-7). This hero volunteered to go to the Middle East. This was his fourth deployment.

Here, the Atlanta Journal Constitution runs a photo essay about SFC Tabb's dog, but I want you to look at the pictures they tell the real story. Look at the soldiers. These are the people on the front lines. These are the people spilling their blood so people can say "God Damn America!" These are the people who are willing to give all so some Judge in Vermont can say being a Christian makes you a bad parent. These are the people who are sacrificing daily so the State of California can teach gay lifestyles in schools.

Here is a short video clip from the Dothan Eagle and one from CNN. You notice that CNN puts most of the emphasis on Bo, the dog. I am not taking anything away from MSG Bo, military working dogs have saved many a soldier's life including mine, but the dogs are an extension of the handler. SFC Tabb had to be a very special person and soldier.

I have seen President Bush cry at military funerals. I have heard Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Jack Murtha slam our soldiers. I have heard Hillary and Obama's plans to cut and run. What I want to hear is them stand up in front of SFC Tabb's family and tell them his sacrifice was for naught. I want Jimmy Carter to stand in front of an armed military company and call them terrorists. I want Congress to butt out and let the Military do the job it is supposed to, protect us and spread the tenets of democracy. I want the treasonous remarks made by elected leaders to stop.

It doesn't matter what I want. I am just one person, but with another voice and then another, perhaps soon the silent majority will be vocal enough to be heard and obeyed. Government of the People, By the People.
