By urbanmenace

Lett-uce get real!
A HUGE number of illegals are in the Southern California area and in LOS ANGELES County in particular WHERE THERE IS NO AGRICULTURE industry anymore..

Quit lying Chertoff! Illegals are taking construction jobs, fast food jobs, landscaping jobs, restaurant jobs, parking attendant jobs, fencing jobs, car wash jobs, plating company jobs, warehousing jobs, assembly line jobs, small jobs,... jobs that Americans once took but soon found that illegals would do it for pennies on the dollar!

Posted at 1:33am on Jun. 25, 2007 The Achilles Heel of the Democrat Party

By urbanmenace

Pejman Yousefzadeh writes in a front page Redstate article that:

We have given a school voucher program in DC only one year to operate. The results are about the same as those that one would see without vouchers. Voucher programs need at least two years to show results. Parents are happy with the voucher program.

Therefore, voucher programs are failures.

The same argument is being made against charter schools in Los Angeles.

The irony is that if the Los Angeles schools (LAUSD) used the same conditions it applies to charters to its own schools, it would be shutting down 40% of its regular district high schools.

Education is the achilles heel of liberal policy. In California, it's the Democrat party (supported by unions such as the CTA and UTLA) that has ruled the roost in the last 20 years while its schools have dropped to the bottom 5% in the nation. A quarter of a million students have dropped out of the district in the last decade.

Posted at 12:42am on Jun. 25, 2007 Kennedy Predicts Immigration Bill Win, but....

By urbanmenace

Kennedy predicts the immigration bill will win. But he made the same prediction last May on the first go around.

This bill if it passes, will hurt the citizens of Massachusetts as badly as it has in my state of California. Like the other 48 states, your next in line to fall from relevance. Already elections are being determined influenced by politicians and coyotes from south of the border.

With a 35% increase in foreign born population in his home state, Kennedy probably sees them as his next constituency while his traditional constituency flatlines.

By urbanmenace

In Los Angeles, California we know more about the negative impacts of amnesty than any state in the country. Yes even more than Arizona, New Mexico and Texas.

Do not allow this bill to pass. It makes no effort to enforce laws that have been on the books since Simpson-Mazzoli.

Illegal immigration has impacted hundreds of towns throughout Southern California and are just a shadow of their blue collar and white collar origins displacing US citizens of every racial and demographic background.

Posted at 1:09am on Jun. 21, 2007 Feds couldn't manage Passport applications, Imagine how Z-Visa's would fare.

By urbanmenace

According to the Los Angeles Times (6-20-07) Federal officials in Washington acknowledge that they failed to anticipate just how much the post-Sept. 11 travel regulations would fuel demand for passports; did not hire enough workers to handle the increase; and neglected to notice or react to signs early this spring of a burgeoning problem."

The passport office, described by the LA Times as our "nations most efficient department", can't handle the 17.5 million visa applications it had to process this year, often taking 6 to twelve weeks or more to complete.

Imagine the chaos and failure to complete background checks of 25 million plus illegal aliens applying for Z-Visas that the have to be processed within 24 hours as proposed by the senate immigration bill.

If the passport office can't do it in 12 weeks, it's certain that background checks and applications for illegals can't be accomplished in 24 hours.

Posted at 2:39am on Jun. 4, 2007 Where Should the Next Presidential Library Be?

By urbanmenace

I'm sure that Bush's thoughts will soon turn to where his presidential library will be. My suggestion would be either:

- Tijuana
- Mexicali

Obviously I think either of these would be great locations in honor of his prolific immigration policies.

Feel free to add to the list of possible locations.

Should there also be a Teddy Kennedy wing?

Posted at 9:01pm on May 18, 2007 Why immigration bill won't work - All politics is local

By urbanmenace

The immigration bill passed in the Senate fails to address many of the local efforts meant to thwart federal law.

While it has penalties against employers hiring illegal immigrants, we know how effective the Simpson-Mazzoli Act was. It wasn't until 2006, 26 years after the amnesty law was enacted, before we saw the first employers ever seeing jail time.

Local politics will cut the legs off of this bills enforcement effort like it has the previous law. I have not read the bill but my guess is that:

Why isn't there a "United Nations" consisting solely of countries with democratically elected governments? Perhap's there should be a move of "out with the old in with the new."

Posted at 12:56am on Sep. 29, 2006 Iraqi Insurgents Seek 'Exploding' Sony Batteries

By urbanmenace

(KNN) Hearing about recall of millions of exploding batteries, Iraqi insurgents have been attempting to intercept shipments of recalled Sony batteries to use as road side bombs in the civil strife between Sunni and Shiite factions.

Joe Wilson, husband of CIA operative Valerie Plame, accused the Bush administration of missing "obvious intelligence signals" reported daily on Digg.com on the recall of exploding Sony batteries found in Dell, Mac and IBM Thinkpad laptops. Wilson said insurgents were trying to re-direct shipments of recalled batteries from the US to Iran where they would later be smuggled across the border into Iraq to kill coalition troops and Iraqi citizens.

Posted at 2:42am on Sep. 10, 2006 The Next Step... Suing Employers for Jobs Lost to Illegals

By urbanmenace

Hazleton Pennsylvania's begun to fight back against illegal immigration. This should be the next step.... Giving American citizens the right to sue their former employers if they've been replaced with illegal immigrant workers, and while we are at it, the right to sue employers if they hire an illegal immigrant over an American citizen.

HAZLETON, Pennsylvania (Reuters) - Officials in the Pennsylvania town of Hazleton on Friday strengthened a local law designed to drive illegal immigrants away in a bid to defend the measure against legal challenges.

By urbanmenace

Is anyone getting tired of this? Drudge reports another doctored photo he titles "Where did the mike cord go?" The NY Times image by Jim Wilson clearly shows the discolored path of the now hidden wire as it climbs up to the hand of the entertainer.

Sometimes mere cropping changes the context of an image and taking out an object is even worse. Photograhers are lying when the manipulate images like this.

Posted at 3:08pm on Jan. 28, 2006 Cindy Sheehan Threatens to Oppose Feinstein

By urbanmenace

Found on a blog called afterdowningstreet. Cindy Sheehan is threatening to oppose Diane Feinstein if the Senator from California does not filibuster the Alito SC nomination. The first thing that comes to mind is that Sheehan is an Oregon resident.

Caracas, Venezuela - Gold star mother Cindy Sheehan has decided to run against California Senator Diane Feinstein if Feinstein does not filibuster the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Samuel Alito. While in Venezuela attending the World Social Forum, Sheehan learned that several Democratic Senators had announced their plans for a filibuster but that Senator Feinstein, who's up for re-election in November, had stated she would vote against the nomination but not filibuster it. "I'm appalled that Diane Feinstein wouldn't recognize how dangerous Alito's nomination is to upholding the values of our constitution and restricting the usurpation of presidential powers, for which I've already paid the ultimate price," Sheehan said.

Sheehan is the grieving military mother whose vigil outside President Bush's ranch in Crawford last summer focused the nation's attention on the human cost of the Iraq war. Her son Casey was killed in Iraq in April 2004.

Judge Alito has an extensive paper trail documenting the right-wing political agenda that he has actively advanced, not only as a high-ranking official in the Reagan Administration, but also as a judge. He has publicly supported the "Unitary Executive" theory, a radical notion that the President holds exclusive and inherent authority to execute all federal law. He has supported efforts to curtail privacy rights, including not only privacy from government surveillance and arbitrary arrest, but also other constitutional rights based on privacy, such as reproductive liberty for women. Alito has outspokenly sought to restrict Congress' power, limiting the scope of the Commerce Clause of Article I of the Constitution. In addition, he has consistently applied his discretion as a judge in favor of certain interests and against others. He rarely votes against big business, police or prosecutors.

Sheehan is available for interviews from Venezuela through the contact people listed above. She returns to the United States on Monday morning and will travel to Washington, DC on Tuesday to participate in an alternative State of the Union event.

Posted at 9:52pm on Nov. 29, 2005 Did Goss Hint at Something?

By urbanmenace

Porter Goss on CIA activities:

http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/story?id=1355192

"We're fighting a war on terror," he said in response to a question about the prisons. "We're doing quite well. Inevitably, we're going to have to capture some terrorists and inevitably they're going to have to have some due process. It's going to be done lawfully."

Interesting comment. It almost sounds to me that Porter Goss's agency has it eyes on some of these people. Not in a hurry for a takedown, just watching them, watching their activities and who they meet with.
