Now that I have your attention, I have to disappoint you by telling you that I am not revealing some magic strategy to give the Republicans invincibility this election cycle. In fact, I am optimistic about their chances, but that is not the point of this diary.

Actually, I use the word 'left' purposely. What I mean by it is those who believe they have a right to power, those who believe that the United States is to blame for, and must apologize for, every single unfortunate event since some Indian was pushed off his land. I mean those who are willing to offer amnesty to millions of illegal aliens who stream across our borders and act as a leech upon our society. Those who believe that the very people who would kill us if they could should be given the right to a trial and eight hours of sleep. Those who will sue anyone who so much as wishes them a Merry Christmas. These are Democrats AND Republicans.

Normally I leave the writing to others at Redstate, and just enjoy reading the diaries. However, a recent event has left me to upset to keep silent.

On Thursday, the United States took unilateral action. The US vetoed a UN Security Council which amounted to nothing more than a condemnation of Israel defending herself against unprovoked Arab attack.

This is the last straw. The UN has proved itself once again to be an irrelevant and incompetent body, issuing a resolution that ignored every fact about the situation in the Middle East.

Without the United States as a member, the UN would fall into obscurity. We don't need them to give us credibility, they need us. The UN has proven that they don't have any real solutions for today's world, besides blaming the US and Israel for every problem, and re-distributing our money around the globe, much of it ending up in tyrant's pockets.

It is time to end the madness. The US needs to develop a timetable for withdrawal. From the UN.

I thought it would be appropriate, in view of Memorial Day, D-Day, and the death of al-Zarqawi, along with the vicious attacks our troops undergo every day from political opportunists, to  write a line or two about the silent heroes in our Armed Forces, who I feel are the greatest people in the world.
