Rush Limbaugh says he is going back to his old self, that he feels "liberated" by not having to "to carry the water for people who I don't think deserve having their water carried". He said that he felt he should work with the Republicans in power, but now he doesn't have to do that any more.

He really lets fly, for example, cutting Bush to pieces: "Let's start with the president's press conference. It's clear he believes the Democrats won the election; that means that they get what they want. In fact, CNN, some info babe on CNN, a few minutes ago said, "For the first time, for the first time, is Bush listening?" So it's working, from the White House standpoint. They're getting sympathy, and they're getting compassionate reporting and they want to turn the boat around. They want to go back to Crawford with their 68% approval number."

Posted at 1:16pm on Nov. 8, 2006 The attack on the problem, John McCain has begun

By Wu Wei

Hugh Hewitt posted the following about John McCain on a blog. Other Republican sources are seconding it. Some are finally seeing that even though he was a POW, he is as liberal as Ted Kennedy and has hurt the Republican party more.

Handed a large majority, the GOP frittered it away. The chief fritterer was Senator McCain and his Gang of 14 and Kennedy-McCain immigration bill, supplemented by a last minute throw down that prevented the NSA bill from progressing or the key judicial nominations from receiving a vote. His accomplice in that master stroke was Senator Graham. Together they cost their friend Mike DeWine his seat in the Senate, and all their Republican colleagues their chairmanships. Senator McCain should rethink his presidential run. Amid the ruins of the GOP's majority there is a clear culprit.
