Now we know why the Politico's Roger Simon penned his hit piece on Fred yesterday. The Waverly Democrat's version is below:
Thompson sat down with Waverly Newspapers Editor Anelia K. Dimitrova at the Waverly Newspapers office for an exclusive 10-minute interview. Two national journalists who had covered the Bill Clinton and Magic Johnson appearance in Waterloo earlier in the afternoon showed up for Thompson’s sit-down session, but were asked by the campaign to wait outside.

From ABCNews this morning:
Explaining that detainees at Guantánamo Bay are "enemies of this nation" and should not be entitled to habeas corpus, the former Tennessee senator expressed distaste for "one the fellows running for the GOP nomination saying that we should shut down Guantánamo and bring those prisoners over here."
"I don't know if he realizes this or not, when they touch American soil, they're gonna get rights they would otherwise not have," Thompson said.

With an opportunity to lay out his future plans for Iraq, Huck instead borrows the tired rhetoric of John Kerry and the liberal establishment.
"American foreign policy needs to change its tone and attitude, open up, and reach out," Huckabee said. "The Bush administration's arrogant bunker mentality has been counterproductive at home and abroad. My administration will recognize that the United States' main fight today does not pit us against the world but pits the world against the terrorists."
