Let me preface what will follow with a few quick points. Pregnancy out of wedlock is a national plague that has visited special damage on the black community. Faith-based initiatives should be supported regardless of the proponent's political party. The Rev. Jesse Jackson normally is a self-serving fool. I don't agree entirely with Mickey Kaus here, but since he beat me or anyone else at Redstate to the punch this needs to be noted.

Sen. John Kerry, Democrat of Massachussets, decided to set the record straight yesterday about Sen. John McCain's judgment. Kerry doesn't think very highly of it.
Kerry had no kind words his Senate colleague Sunday, accusing McCain of poor decision-making on everything from backing tax cuts for the wealthy to making support for continuing the U.S. military presence in Iraq the centerpiece of his presidential campaign.

Sen. Jim Webb just made it official. The Obama! campaign has decided to smear the military service of Sen. John McCain to detract from their candidate's lack of service and unsavory associations and affinity with people who hate America.
Webb said:
Webb, a Barack Obama supporter, was on MSNBC's "Countdown" to talk about his G.I. Bill to increase education benefits for returning veterans which is now law. Webb criticized both McCain and President Bush for not supporting the bill. Then, unprompted, Webb weighed in on the debate over retired Gen. Wesley Clark's remark that "riding in a fighter plane and getting shot down" isn't "a qualification to be president."

Some of the United States Supreme Court justices in Heller didn't even bother to pay lip service to the constitutional issue. At the outset of his dissent, Justice Stevens wrote:
But a conclusion that the Second Amendment protects an individual right does not tell us anything about the scope of that right.
I think this is about right, and about as profound as an observation that the sky is blue. Yet Stevens then goes through a tortured analysis that contradicts the above and basically concludes there is no individual right due to changed political circumstances. Breyer was no better in his concurring dissent in which he ultimately sought to have individual United States District Court judges act as legislators.

In the end, Sen. Barack Obama was selected and not elected. Only through super-delegates, formerly known as Democratic Party political hacks, was he able to clinch the nomination. He is an illegitimate nominee. All the votes were not counted. The election was stolen from Sen. Hillary Clinton. Florida! Michigan! Every vote should count...
blah, blah, blah. I have wanted to write something similar to the above banalities ever since 2000. It does my heart good to be able to do so this morning.

It is one thing to fabricate a family member's war experiences.
It is quite another to exploit the Holocaust, and particularly the hell that was Auschwitz, for political purposes.
Barack Obama has done both.
As reported by the Associated Press, Sen. Obama said on Memorial Day:
"And the story in our family was is that when he came home, he (Obama's uncle) just went up into the attic and he didn't leave the house for six months," he said.

Sen. Barack Obama's claim that he was unaware of Rev. Jeremiah Wright's racism and anti-Americanism was a joke from the start. Such an assertion defied logic, facts, and reason. Yet many of Obama's supporters indulged that fiction for numerous reasons. Among these were that Chicago's repulsive machine politics required a young Obama to pay tribute to the hatemonger.
As the Wright saga evolved, Obama continued to adjust his rationales. His much-vaunted Philadelphia "race speech" was little more than an apologia for Wright. Obama, liberal that he is, thought it more important to lecture rather than actually to apologize and move on.

Few Republican bloggers were in the tank for their man to the extent Hugh Hewitt was. Hewitt's wild praise of Mitt Romney raised many eyebrows, some from those who backed the identical candidate. The same happened with bloggers who supported other candidates, of course, but Hugh always was over-the-top.
Blogger Andrew Sullivan at one point likened Hewitt to a prostitute. The irony of that comparison is delicious given what Sullivan does daily on behalf of his man Barack Obama. Sullivan has decided to show Hewitt how to really work a mattress.

Once upon a time Andrew Sullivan described Hugh Hewitt as a "prostitute" because of HH's ardent support of GOP primary candidate Mitt Romney. Then Sullivan's personal Lord and Savior Barack Obama became entangled in a scandal and a cage match with Hillary Clinton.
So Sully has decided to show Hugh how to work the mattress. It has been an impressive demonstration.
I won't link to his site, because while there are more vile blogosphere voices than Andrew Sullivan there are few as disingenuous. So not to run afoul of fair use and so forth, let me summarize the Obama items I just read on Andrew Sullivan's website:

St. Louis Conservative has posted a blog in which he asks whether Romney can win a general election. Given the length of my response, I decided to break this out. My apologies to St. Louis, but I didn't want to have to be as brief as a comment should be.
First, a generalization: if Hillary Clinton is the nominee, John McCain could be our best against her since he doesn't have as extensive of a record of flip-flops and these are her soft spot. Also, if financial scandal or allegations of such were leveled at McCain, Clinton would be in no position to take advantage (this also is a plus for Romney). If Barack Obama were to win, McCain would look old and tired against the younger man. Conversely, Romney would be a better visual against Obama.
