According the U.S. Senate website…“Over 400 prominent scientists from more than two dozen countries recently voiced significant objections to major aspects of the so-called "consensus" on man-made global warming. These scientists, many of whom are current and former participants in the UN IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), criticized the climate claims made by the UN IPCC and former Vice President Al Gore.” Interested parties can read the results for themselves at: http://epw.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=Minority.SenateReport

By Roy Tanner
Adulation, back patting and chest beating, over the 2006 mid-term elections results have been limited to Democrats, the liberal media, and the proxies of terror.
The conservative base, while looking to discipline its own, never expected so many tight races would aggregate toward wresting control in both houses of Congress and the majority of governorships. And while many conservative pundits are positing post-mortems, this message to conservative leaders hopes to provide assessment and encouragement from a grassroots activist perspective.

My Fellow Citizens:
Napoleon once said, "There are only two levers that have ever motivated mankind - either interest or fear." And when it comes to the 2006 Midterm Elections, these are the very dynamics at play with the nation's traditional "values" voters.
Now I know that conservatives are less than enthusiastic with the majority's performance in some key policy areas these last two years, but can you imagine what would happen if we were to hand the control of Congress to the minority party? Pick an issue: terror, taxes, tradition...and then ask yourself if you would really sleep better at night with the Democrats leading the nation?

By Roy Tanner
Conservative Leaders:
Together we've labored long and hard toward securing the future of our nation, the character of its leadership and the moral health of our people. And even after winning a majority governorships, majorities in both houses of Congress and the executive branch, many of us now realize that our trust in certain moderate politicos has been misplaced.
As conservative professionals, many of us are fed-up with the level of obstruction that exists in Congress and the dissent within the Republican Party. With our nation's borders still undefended, fiscal restraint effectively abandoned and judicial nominees still blocked, apparently select trustees will now be needed to keep our career delegates accountable.

“From bondage to spiritual faith; from spiritual faith to great courage; from courage to liberty; from liberty to abundance; from abundance to complacency; from complacency to apathy; from apathy to dependence; from dependence back into bondage.” Attributed to Alexander Fraser Tytler, this passage always raises some introspection in me, as I trust it does in you as well. And with this continuum in mind, where would you say we are as a generation with respect to the time honored principles our nation was founded on?

By Roy Tanner
As a candidate for the U.S. Senate, I’m often invited to address various constituent forums on the issues of our day. And although debating with incumbents of renown can be a heady experience, I’ve noticed that regardless of the promises being made, politicians never address the impact (of planned legislation) to growing U.S. budget deficits and our huge national debt.
I don’t mean to bore you with the details, but according to the government’s General Accounting Office, total U. S. fiscal exposure from unfunded entitlements alone exceeds $46-trillion, and our interest payments on the national debt now comprise our fourth largest budget expenditure.

People in the know refer to this as the "new normal." In recent reports to Congress, it's been determined that the U.S. mainland is now susceptible to attack by terrorist regimes through use of weapons of mass destruction.
That said, the Bush administration's preemptive, post 9/11 posture has been highly effective at thwarting new homeland attacks. This feat is even more impressive when you consider the divisive, non-stop congressional infighting over whether the U.S. should repel future terror strikes as a matter of law enforcement or national security?

For those of you who came to know me either through business or blogging, and are still curious why an entrepreneur and evangelist is running for elected office (U.S. Senate, FL), this message is for you. The short answer is that I believe professionals in the private sector can still introduce greater process optimization into government, and that people of faith have one more important role to play in America's conservative renewal.

My Fellow Citizens:
With just over 70-days left until the 2006 general election, I sense you can hardly contain your excitement. Seriously though, low voter turn-out suggests that many take this noble and peaceful means of transferring power -- for granted.
But what's the source of this disenchantment? Is it complacency from living in the land of opportunity? Surely the war on terror, the health of the economy, or myriad social policy questions are compelling enough issues to raise voter interest.

Posted at 7:01pm on Jul. 30, 2006 Yahweh's terms for peace
By Roy Tanner
Caught in the crossfire, news from Lebanon reports that scores of innocent civilians are being slaughtered needlessly. While the Middle East cauldron erupts anew with this latest skirmish between the Jews and Arabs, the world's talking heads in government and media are aghast and offended that Israel presumes to protect itself again from enemy aggression. In the midst of it all, may I humbly remind all the parties involved that there is really only One party's view that makes any difference.
Sure the IDF has an impressive record against conventional forces that have contested it. And yes, if the end justifies any means, the asymmetrical warfare waged by the courageous Islamic warriors (who hide behind civilians) has been difficult to eradicate. But the Force that no one in their right mind should want to cross is that of...you guessed it --Yahweh. That's to suggest that the God of the Jews and Muslims is not one and the same -- unless of course He's at war with Himself, which pretty well sums up why peace has been so elusive between these estranged brothers.
And if you believe Yahweh's word can be trusted, you should know that He will soon resort to protecting His people without any help from Israel's so called allies, which according to prophecy presents a prospect considerably more horrific than what the Israeli government is proposing for terms of peace. And by the way, offended Muslims, dithering heads of government and even U.S. efforts to brow beat the Jewish people into a "cease fire" through shuttle diplomacy will be in vain if we're merely pushing for another brief respite before each side reloads.
Now I know this advice will fall on deaf ears, but I'm going to recommend it anyway. If the instigators of world terror and tyranny really desire peace, yes, they can start by silencing their weapons. But to take advantage of the Judeo-Christian custom of forgiveness (i.e. Israel fore-going its right to lay waste your countries), you must soon adopt the posture of a verifiable repentance from the use of terror. And the steps I would suggest, constituting evidence of a change in direction, would include:
- Recognize Israel's right to exist by expanding their borders to areas consistent with the size of the historic Davidic empire.
- The surrounding Islamic nations must then absorb disgruntled refugees unwilling to swear allegiance to the nation of Israel.
- Next, since Jerusalem is mentioned nowhere in the Koran, drop your claim and remove your mosque from the Temple Mount.
- Then, starting with the worst of the tyrannical regimes, renounce the use of terror by disarming militias and ending indoctrination.
- Follow this by opening your closed societies to free trade and democratic governance, to give your huddled masses a reason for hope.
- Next, divert the billions wasted in terror and weapons programs to rebuilding your national infrastructure in cities, universities, and industry.
- Finally, from this point forward, resolve to win the world to your way of life through goodwill, versus conversion compelled under threat of death.
Do this and you will withhold certain wrath, while enjoying the blessings of Yahweh. Forsake this advice, and you'll soon be dealing with our offended God's Son.
Choose peace brothers...
