We have watched the awkward dressed families from the YFZ Ranch paraded in front of us by the media. It has been frenzy from CNN to Fox News on who can interview the most zombie-like among them. It reminds me of watching M. Night Shyamalan’s The Village.

These folks are polygamists, and I am no apologist for them. Although it’s been out for a while, I just came across something from my local paper in Colorado that has made me stop cold in smirking at those folks. Rozita Swinton from Colorado Springs is an alleged pathological liar with multiple personalities. Texas Rangers have tracked the phone call of that 16 year old from YFZ Ranch that declared she was raped by her 49-year old husband to Rozita.

This is a political post with a twist of religion.

On CNN today, Charles Barkley said that if you are a conservative and a Christian, then you're a fake Christian. The way he presented his argument when pressed by Wolf Blitzer was that Christians that don't support gay marriage or choice in abortion don't forgive. Thus, if you support banning gay marriage or are Pro-Life and you are a Christian, then you are a fake Christian.

As an elected precinct delegate voting in the Colorado State Assembly for Mitt Romney, I am sad to see my man Mitt pulling out of this race. Yet, it shows me that he has a future. He doesn't have to act on that political future, but as the servant leader I have come to know, I expect to see him again.

I do not expect Mitt to be chosen for VP, that will probably go between Crist, Giuliani or Huckabee. Either way, I fear for our party. The top 3 in the Democrat Party have won over 18 million votes. The top 3 in our party have won 11 million votes. That is almost a 37% difference in enthusiasm. Nevertheless, I hope our nominee will win, and I hope he will gain momentum and do well.

This post is partly about the thankless job of being a web editor. I am not one, but I know one that didn't do his job well. Sean Hannity has come out and endorsed Mitt Romney. Not a bad endorsement for Mitt. The problem is when your web editor places it up on your website and truncates your last name. Love him, hate him, or just have to hold your nose around him, Mitt Romney runs his campaign like a business.

Dan McLaughlin posed a great question a few days ago asking for evidence how Mitt Romney could appeal to Latino voters. I believe this is a very valid question and requires some digging. I agree with Dan that Mitt is starting out behind the 8-ball in appealing to this demographic, but in the game of pool, if you play it right, you can get great shots in and set yourself up for the following shot.

All your delegates are belong to us. I am not the one to school people on this issue, but I would appreciate some informed comments on the topic.

Some folks have been making comments that the Winner-Take-All to a state primary means one candidate gets all the delegates statewide for the win. I do not believe this is correct.

We have discussed the virtues and the vices of the FairTax multiple times on RedState and I applaud that. I for one am for innovation in solving our problems, but innovation like any medicine has side affects, and we should be painfully aware of the side affects of the FairTax before we take that pill.

Many here feel the FairTax is DOA because of the requirement to repeal the 16th Amendment. I agree with this opinion, yet I'd like to ask all FairTax advocates to answer this question: Please break out your 2006 U.S. Individual Income Tax Return and if your Federal Tax is 23% or greater, please raise your hand.

Tancredo is the hands down immigration reform advocate. He did raise the conversation to a higher pitch during this election cycle. Today, he pulled out of the 2008 race and endorsed Mitt Romney.

With folks trying to "out-Tancredo" Tancredo, he did raise an important issue and was a loud opponent to the work McCain had been doing before the immigration bill failed.

With Tom retiring from the house after his term, I speculate that he may move into Mitt's guest house and check green papers for any lawn workers, but maybe that's a stretch. You know someone what going to use that joke... I just had to beat 'em to the punch. :)
