Posted at 5:24pm on May 4, 2007 Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant set to reopen Unit 1 this month
By bags64
I just wanted to applaud the TVA for its willingness to reopen unit 1 of Browns Ferry after being dormant for almost 25 years. It will be the first opening of a nuclear facility in the US in 10 years. The reopening project cost $1.8 billion.
As someone who supports nuclear energy as part of the next solution to our energy needs, this is welcome news.
Here are links for those of you who want some history of Browns Ferry:

Back before the leadership elections in the congress, I took someone's advice here and wrote a letter to my congressman, Zach Wamp. While it took awhile (completely understandable), here is the response I received from Congressman Wamp...posted strictly FYI. **by the way, I emailed him asking him to support for the pair some on the board here were touting...he only references Shadegg, however...and for the life of me, i cannot remember the other fella's name right now**

Looks like a response is ready to go in Missouri. I'm not sure who all the people are, but I did recognize Kurt Warner!

It'll be interesting to see how this turns out.

I found this article by Senator Inhofe to be refreshingly straightforward in its challenge to the GW alarmists.

He chronicles the folly of the weather alarmists and challenges them to put up or shut up.

Posted at 9:14pm on Dec. 24, 2005 Who recommended 'The Case for the Creator' by Strobel?
By bags64
I remember reading a thread here about a month or 2 ago where a poster said something to the effect, "If there was one book I wish everyone could read, it would be 'The Case for a Creator' by Lee Strobel".
Well, I ordered it that very day and am just now finishing it up, and I just wanted to thank you.
Have you read any of his other "The Case for..." books?
Thanks again.
