Or Justice Bill Pryor. Or Justice Miguel Estrada. Or Justice J. Michael Luttig. Take your pick.

I don't like John McCain on most issues. He is wrong on free speech, wrong on taxes, wrong on torture, and too many other issues to list in one blog post. But there is one issue I trust him on: judges.

Don't get me wrong, I'd rather have Fred Thompson in the Oval Office sending SCOTUS nominations to the Senate. Unfortunately, Fred is not viable at this point, and McCain is our current frontrunner and likely nominee. But McCain is my solid second choice, if only because the other three contenders have demonstrated through their actions that they would not appoint originalist justices to SCOTUS if given the chance.
