By jwl1975

The global temperature drops again in May.

http://wattsupwiththat.wordpress.com/2008/06/03/uah-global-temperature-d...

"[T]he change since the last big peak in global temperature in January 2007 at 0.594°C, giving a 16 month ∆T of -0.774°C which is equal in magnitude to the generally agreed upon “global warming signal” of the last 100 years."

Posted at 5:01pm on Mar. 26, 2008 Ice shelf collapses - man to blame

By jwl1975

http://www.stuff.co.nz/stuff/4452970a7693.html

A massive piece of the Wilkins ice shelf collapsed. This is evidence that there is warming in the antarctic region. While it is not explicitly stated, the article is linking the collapse to human activity, because unfortunately the terms "climate change" and "global warming" have been hijacked by the man is bad, climate alarmist crowd.

But the article makes a significant admission in the very last line.

Posted at 3:35pm on Mar. 25, 2008 The oceans aren't warming?!?!? Must be bad equipment.

By jwl1975

Another nail in the AGW hysteria coffin.

It's fascinating to watch their progress online. (The URLs are too complex to reproduce here, but Google "Argo Buoy Movement" or "Argo Float Animation," and you will be directed to the links.)

When they were first deployed in 2003, the Argos were hailed for their ability to collect information on ocean conditions more precisely, at more places and greater depths and in more conditions than ever before. No longer would scientists have to rely on measurements mostly at the surface from older scientific buoys or inconsistent shipboard monitors.

Barack Obama's foreign policy advisor Susan Rice makes a stunning admission about Obama's and Hillary Clinton's readiness to be President:

That sounds about right to me!

Posted at 1:29pm on Mar. 4, 2008 Texas v. Ohio

By jwl1975

The WSJ had an excellent editorial comparing the economies of Texas and Ohio.

http://online.wsj.com/public/article_print/SB120450306595906431.html

Over the past decade, Texas has added 1.6 million new jobs while Ohio has lost over 10,000 jobs. The unemployment rate in Texas is 4.5%, while in Ohio it is 6%.

Why is this the case? One key reason is that Texas has no corporate or personal income tax and Ohio has the 3rd highest corporate income tax rate and 6th highest personal income tax rate.

Posted at 1:08pm on Feb. 28, 2008 Obama to Canadians about NAFTA criticisms - Don't worry, I don't mean it.

By jwl1975

This is pretty amazing.

http://news.sympatico.msn.ctv.ca/TopStories/ContentPosting.aspx?feedname...

Within the last month, a top staff member for Obama's campaign telephoned Michael Wilson, Canada's ambassador to the United States, and warned him that Obama would speak out against NAFTA, according to Canadian sources.

Posted at 5:00pm on Feb. 26, 2008 Global cooling begins

By jwl1975

First, the graph:
http://images.dailytech.com/nimage/7390_large_hadcrut.jpg

Then, the article:
http://www.dailytech.com/Temperature+Monitors+Report+Worldwide+Global+Co...

The total amount of cooling ranges from 0.65C up to 0.75C --
a value large enough to erase nearly all the global warming recorded over the past 100 years. All in one year time. For all sources, it's the single fastest temperature change every recorded, either up or down.

Posted at 4:29pm on Feb. 23, 2008 Is Obamamania starting to wane?

By jwl1975

I had previously believed that Obama would be the much more difficult candidate to face in the fall than Clinton because of Clinton's high negatives and the country's desire to move on from the last 16 years of bitterly contentious politics.

But that was before I began to learn more about Obama, listen and read to what he has to say, and learn about his wife's views of the United States. His liberal record is clear, his speeches say nothing, and his wife's bitterness and explicit admission that she is not proud of the United States is quickly becoming a problem for him.

Posted at 6:27pm on Feb. 18, 2008 Michelle Obama - not really a big fan of the United States

By jwl1975

"For the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country, because it feels like hope is making a comeback."

Ben Smith quotes her here:
http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0208/For_the_first_time.html

As some have pointed out, Obama's message of hope is based primarily on the assumption that the United States is a miserable country where no one can prosper, succeed, and be happy. His wife apparently feels the same way.

Posted at 12:25pm on Feb. 16, 2008 Hillary is yesterday's news.

By jwl1975

I'm glad to see the shift toward critiques of Barack Obama's candidacy and policy positions on Red State, but it amazes me that, at least on the talk radio I catch on the way to and from work (local DC guys, Levin, sometimes Hannity), the majority of time is still spent talking about Hillary.

It's over for Hillary. She's done. Even if her firewall stands up, she'll still be behind in the delegate and popular vote count. The superdelegates aren't going to save her - they aren't stupid. As one commentator stated, the Potomac Primaries were the tipping point.
