By flywheel
Rank your top ten preferences for McCain's running mate.

This is a self-selected, non-scientific straw poll that showcases the virtues of ranked choice/instant runoff voting.
June's GOP VP straw poll had a relatively large turnout and an overwhelming first round victory for Mike Huckabee, due to links from sites like Hucksarmy.com. The most popular 2nd choice for Huckabee's supporters was Duncan Hunter.

This is a self-selected, non-scientific straw poll that showcases the virtues of ranked choice/instant runoff voting. Results thus far in the GOP poll indicate that Mike Huckabee's online community is alive and well.
The list of options is subjective, based on my readings of current press speculation. If I've left out any prominent options, please let me know.

Here's a chance to rank your choices among the remaining Republican Presidential candidates.

This is not a scientific poll, but a way of visualizing the preferences of people who turn out for it.
This ballot will stay open through the end of February. Measures are in place to prevent repeat voting and ballot stuffing.

Posted at 8:16pm on Jan. 20, 2008 Where would Thompson loyalists go? Bet Romney.
By flywheel
As some of you may recall, I've been announcing a series of ranked-choice/instant runoff straw poll at RedState and other sites during this campaign season. Participants are self-selected, so the system can't claim scientific accuracy. It's just meant to represent the views of those who show up.
The Republican polls have often been dominated by Ron Paul supporters, but Fred Thompson has also done quite well. This month, in fact, Thompson has a commanding lead. At this point he has a first round victory with 61% of the 241 ballots cast.

Posted at 2:15pm on Nov. 6, 2007 Tuesday Tracker Straw Poll: Huckabee advances as Paul wins big
By flywheel
The Tuesday Tracker ranked choice straw poll for November 6, 2007 closes at midnight PST.
http://www.choiceranker.com/election.php?eid=138
The system uses a ranked choice ballot and displays results in three ways:
1. Plurality (what you're used to)
2. Depth (a system similar to college football rankings)
3. Instant Runoff (like the system in Australia and some US cities)
Instant Runoff trumps if the different systems result in different winners. It can happen, which makes things interesting.

Someone was able to mess with my original post. What does that say about the integrity of the Redstate system? If you don't want these polls, then someone who's in charge should formally request that I stop, and I will.
