Posted at 5:04pm on Jun. 11, 2008 Solving the Energy Crisis in 30 Days or Less

By Kevin Price

Since the media loves words like "crisis," I will use it; but it is certainly over used. Furthermore, our problems are not in energy but in policy. We have plenty of energy to fuel our cars and we could cut our prices by close to half in about a month if our elected officials had the courage and desire to do so. The majority in Congress have neither.

Thirty days seems ridiculously short and cutting prices in half, ambitious, but I sincerely believe these are goals that are realistic and should be pursued today. How?

Posted at 10:52am on Jun. 5, 2008 Barack Obama's Legacy

By Kevin Price

There is no question that Barack Obama will go down in history as one of the most significant individuals in US political history. Love him or hate him, he is huge on the political landscape. This is true, regardless if he wins or loses. He is the first African-American candidate that was able to break the color barrier and transcend virtually all ethnic groups. But will that be his legacy?

Certainly that would have been the case at the beginning of this election cycle with his theme of "unity" seen through out his literature, commercials, and messages. But will that be his historic legacy? The following are some areas that could harm that reputation.

Posted at 7:53pm on May 16, 2008 "I Resemble that Statement!"

By Kevin Price

President Bush took his political opponents on in Israel by comparing them to those who tried to placate Hitler in the days leading up to World War II. Barack Obama quickly rose to the occasion by protesting "I resemble that statement." Okay, not those exact words, but Bush didn't point the finger at any particular person and Obama quickly assumed he was talking about him. I guess "if the shoe fits, wear it."

Posted at 2:49pm on May 5, 2008 Is Howard Dean About to Move People to Clinton?

By Kevin Price

For quite some time I have tried to contribute to the "chaos" in the Democratic party by doing what I can to keep Hillary in the race. I have done this, not because I support her, but like many on Redstate, I want the Democrats to take as long as possible before they make a decision. The more they are hurting each other, the better it is for our side.

My concern is that Operation Chaos (as Rush Limbaugh likes to call it) may be working too well. I have become increasingly convinced that Obama will be an easier candidate to defeat in November. He is too soft, certainly too liberal, and too elitist, for the majority of Americans. I believe that he likely will do more to bring "Reagan Democrats" to the polls to help McCain than anyone since Reagan.

Posted at 10:30am on Apr. 12, 2008 The Real Obama Comes Out

By Kevin Price

Any questions about Obama's true values and beliefs should now be history. He has made that clear in recent months and Obama's most recent comments among the West Coast elite should be the most alarming to average Americans everywhere.

While in California raising money, Obama stated "You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them," Obama said. "And it's not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

Posted at 6:57am on Apr. 1, 2008 Former Congressman Is Jumping In Presidential Race

By Kevin Price

Just when it appeared that we were thinning out the number of candidates in the race for the Presidency, it appears another might be jumping in. Former Republican Congressman Bob Barr of Georgia is poised to announce his candidacy.

Bob Barr, who lead the charge for impeachment against Bill Clinton, became the target of Democratic revenge and lost his seat in 2002. Barr eventually left the Republican Party and joined the Libertarian Party. This departure was due to Barr's opposition to the war in Iraq and the failure of Republicans to tackle fiscal problems.

Posted at 11:41am on Mar. 31, 2008 Weather Channel Founder on Global Warming, Guest on the Houston Business Show

By Kevin Price

One of the founders of the Weather Channel, John Coleman, has gone on the offensive againse Global Warming. Recently he wrote:

"Global Warming is the greatest scam in history. I am amazed, appalled and highly offended by it. Global Warming; It is a SCAM. Some dastardly scientists with environmental and political motives manipulated long term scientific data to create in allusion of rapid global warming. Other scientists of the same environmental whacko type jumped into the circle to support and broaden the “research” to further enhance the totally slanted, bogus global warming claims. Their friends in government steered huge research grants their way to keep the movement going. Soon they claimed to be a consensus."

Posted at 7:29pm on Mar. 14, 2008 Michelle Obama Should Not Surprise Us

By Kevin Price

Michelle Obama recently stirred quite a ruckus when she said that "For the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country," she told a Milwaukee crowd, "because it feels like hope is making a comeback." It should not have been a shock at all. Obama and her husband come from a culture that greatly disdains the US and they find it very easy to blame this country for virtually every woe.

Recently, Mrs. Obama complained about her huge student loans she and her husband have had to pay for their undergraduate and law educations. She doesn't mention that, partly as a result of those educations, they both make approximately $500,000 a year combined. Furthermore, she failed to mention in her complaining that she attended Princeton and Barack attended Columbia, and that they both attended Harvard Law School. They probably should have went to more affordable schools or, at the very least, be extremely grateful to have the opportunity to attend the most elite schools in the country and to have the incomes to afford such. but it isn't how their culture operate.

Posted at 12:50pm on Mar. 1, 2008 How Will Texas Conservatives Vote?

By Kevin Price

Both on my radio show and in public events, there is a rather loud debate among Conservatives on how to vote. I'm sure this is due to the fact that it is the first time our votes might matter in the primaries when it comes to the race for the White House.

That debate raging among Texas Conservatives is about whether they should vote in the Democratic Party in order to play a spoiler role. After all, the Democrats and independents did the same thing to Republicans in places like New Hampshire, which has led to us having a nominee like John McCain. The following are four options being weighed by Conservatives in Texas:

Posted at 8:37pm on Feb. 20, 2008 Obama, Rudy Boschwitz, and Being Ready to Lead

By Kevin Price

When I use to work for Senator Gordon Humphrey (R-NH) back in the 1980s, I had a surprising experience one day that humorously displays how difficult it is to get traction as a legislator in Washington.

I was busy away typing a response to a constituent's question when an exasperated Rudy Boschwith (then, a Senator from Minnesota), flew into the room and with a dazed look and asked where the rest room was. He looked shocked and he acted as though he was going to a public rest room. It wasn't, but one of the many ones in the offices of US Senators for their staff.
