Posted at 6:32pm on Oct. 3, 2007 The Democrats Attack Rush To Cover Their Mistake
By Rep. Vito Fosella
Just wanted to add my two cents to the Rush Limbaugh controversy. The left-wing was in search of a life-saver to divert attention from their complicity in MoveOn.org’s offensive assault on General Petraeus’ character and integrity. They knew the American people were disgusted by their actions and they could never win the debate. So instead of admitting their mistake, they quickly changed the subject by twisting the words of Rush Limbaugh.
The war in Iraq is a serious subject. Our brave men and women in uniform deserve our full support – not cheap political attacks that undermine their mission. Congress should be debating the best way for America to protect our national security, win the war against the terrorists and ensure a sustainable democracy in Iraq while bringing our troops home as quickly as possible.
Rush Limbaugh is a favorite target for the left, but his support of our men and women in uniform is unquestioned. If Senators wants to debate Rush on the merits of the war, so be it. But they should not be questioning his patriotism or his commitment to those who wear our nation’s uniform.

By Rep. Vito Fossella
When police arrested three alleged terrorists this past weekend on charges that they were plotting to blow up Kennedy Airport in New York City, it was a chilling reminder that our nation is still at war with an evil enemy.
Our nation owes a debt of gratitude to law enforcement for stopping yet another attack before it occurred. In fact, the failure of these terrorists, as well as those who've also tried to murder innocent Americans since September 11th, is due, in large part, to a series of comprehensive security measures that have strengthened our ability to stop the enemy.

Posted at 8:19pm on Apr. 20, 2007 Castro's propoganda in our schools
By Rep. Vito Fosella
RedState welcomes Congressman Fosella.
"It was revealed this week that students of a New York City public school, the Beacon School, went on an unauthorized trip to Cuba. The trip was arranged by a teacher at the school, who apparently holds Cuban dictator Fidel Castro in high regard.
I have followed with great interest this story and am concerned that these young people are being offered a subjective and wholly inaccurate portrayal of Castro and his government. While I strongly support the idea of a thorough and objective debate on policy matters, it does not appear that the students of the Beacon School are being exposed to both sides of the story when it comes to the communist island and its leader.
For instance, the students should know that Cuba offers political asylum to convicted murders like copkiller Joanne Chesimard and FALN terrorist William Morales, is a state sponsor of terrorism and is responsible for shooting down two American aircraft in international waters in recent years. At the same time, Cuba imprisons intellectuals, labor leaders and students just like those at the Beacon School for expressing the right of free thinking.
