By Ericka Andersen
So...ya can't say "nuts" on TV. It's reminding me of that old Nickelodeon show, "You Can't Do That on Television." If you did something you shouldn't on that show, you got slimed. It seems like Wolf Blitzer, Joe Scarborough and others thought they might get slimed if they repeated the words of the REVEREND Jesse Jackson verbatim. If you are out of the loop, this in reference to the comments Jackson made regarding Obama's anatomy (nuts!) when he thought the mic was off. This clip is simple but genius. Well it made me laugh out loud if nothing else:

Posted at 3:06pm on Jun. 9, 2008 Sen. Bond is Angry with Dems on Phase II
By Ericka Andersen
Sen. Kit Bond, Vice Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee has a nice piece up on Human Events today, explaining the Democrat corruption seething form the recent Phase II Intelligence report from the Senate Intelligence Committee but I also caught up with him on a conference call today.
Bond was obviously outraged at how Democrats, who penned most of the report, failed to include any of their “own” when referring to comments made regarding the danger Iraq posed according to intelligence reports released in 2003 and 2004.

Posted at 12:15pm on Jun. 6, 2008 Analyzing the Chicken's Trek Across the Road
By Ericka Andersen
WHY DID THE CHICKEN CROSS THE ROAD?
BARACK OBAMA:
The chicken crossed the road because it was time for a CHANGE! The chicken wanted CHANGE!
JOHN MC CAIN:
My friends, that chicken crossed the road because he recognized the need to engage in cooperation and dialogue with all the chickens on the other side of the road!
HILLARY CLINTON:
When I was First Lady, I personally helped that little chicken to cross the road. This experience makes me uniquely qualified to ensure -- right from Day One! -- that every chicken in this country gets the chance it deserves to cross the road. But then, this really isn't about me.......

Posted at 4:59pm on Jun. 5, 2008 Franken's Jokes about Rape -- One More Reason
By Ericka Andersen
Al Franken just keeps running into trouble. Of course he created it for himself – but if you ever think you might want to be a Senator in the future -- give up the disgusting satire. After facing a barrage of criticism for not paying taxes in several states, Franken is now under fire for a “racy fantasy article” he wrote for Playboy magazine and some quotes where he was “joking about rape while writing a skit for ‘Saturday Night Live,’” according to the Minnesota Star Tribune.
Minnesota Republicans have gone out of their way to expose Franken’s shady past. Franken’s controversial comedy routines are coming back to haunt him in a big way now. Though he has tried to draw the line between the comedy and politics, the two will not be completely separated when the voters make their choice.
The Star Tribune Article reads:

Posted at 3:16pm on May 29, 2008 Sen. Obama -- Don't Go If You Are Not Coming Home with the Truth
By Ericka Andersen
I’m not sure why it took this long for someone to make a big deal of the fact that Barack Obama has only visited Iraq one time over two years ago. It’s no surprise he has chosen not to meet with Gen. Petraeus, visit our troops or get a personal assessment of the situation on the ground overseas. He knows, from seeing other anti-war politicians like Dick Durbin and Hillary Clinton – that it is impossible to deny the progress and positive change when you are faced with it head on. Those two, among others, admitted the truth – that we have done well.

Posted at 12:31pm on May 29, 2008 Liberal Indoctrination Until Graduation
By Ericka Andersen
The majority of commencement speakers this year at America’s colleges and universities were Democrat and/or liberal. This is no surprise considering the affirmative action laced, diversity infused, socialistic mentality taught in our nation’s higher education facilities. After four years of liberal professors and campus efforts to avoid offending anyone other than the white middle class, a commencement speaker is only the dollop of whip cream on this ice cream sundae of corruption.

Posted at 9:07am on May 7, 2008 The NYT Hates John McCain
By Ericka Andersen
In a display of typical anti-Republican mouth vomit, the New York Times today criticized John McCain for his focus on maintaining a conservative, constitutionalist Supreme Court should he become President. McCain has long hailed Justices Roberts and Alito and continued to do so in his recent speech on judicial nominees.
The NYT editorial starts tricks the reader into thinking they might actually be saying something positive about McCain when they write, "So we are thankful to Senator John McCain for reminding us Tuesday what this year’s presidential race really is about….” But it quickly turns sour.
They continue:
“On a day when Mr. Obama won a decisive victory in North Carolina and Mrs. Clinton eked out a win in Indiana, Mr. McCain spoke about his judicial philosophy. He is determined to move a far too conservative and far too activist Supreme Court and federal judiciary even further and more actively to the right.”
As for more of Roberts and Alito, the Times said, “That is just what the country does not need.”
The country’s most well-known newspaper is gunning for the Democrats despite their forced, half-hearted endorsement of McCain when Republicans were still in limbo for a nominee.
It’s no surprise coming from this liberal hack job – which consistently buries important stories on page 17 and exposes national security secrets on the front page – but it seems their editorials retain absolutely no balance — ever. I am sick of it and so is at least half the country.
The Times twisted their editorial to explain that McCain’s ability to stand outside of a cat fight for the nomination has shown “what is truly at stake in this election and why the country cannot, for example, afford another president committed to packing the courts with activist, right wing judges.”
They stake the tired claim that McCain is too much like President Bush. The editorial ends with this:
“Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Obama can continue to tear each other up and fight over each superdelegate, or they can debate the issues — for the sake of the voters.”
…Because God forbid John McCain become President and keep our country safe and protect sovereignty as a people. The NYT is right that Clinton and Obama are extremely similar on most policies. They will both leave us prone to attack and prisoner to a growing government.
Posted at 4:07pm on May 5, 2008 Jindal Wouldn't say "No" to VP?
By Ericka Andersen
With more frequent mentions today that his name makes the "short list" for possible VP for John McCain, Bobby Jindal addressed the issue today on Fox News. He would not flat out say "no" to taking the position if asked but he did say "I do not think the senator is going to ask."
I am flattered that my name makes the list, but we have important work to do. We had a special session on ethics. We had a second special section to eliminate taxes on businesses on deck, new equipment, and utilities. we have a lot more work to do. We're still rebuilding after the storms. We have made a lot of progress, but there's a lot more work to be done. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to Louisiana to be built better than we were before the storms. This is where I want to be. This is where I think I meant to be.
Shepard Smith pushed him a little further on the question. (It seems like people have hyper-guessing VP syndrome these days.)But he remained steadfast in staying with his new position in Louisiana.
Again, I do not think i'm going to be asked. It is flattering. I do think senator McCain is going to do very well. I think he will be elected president of the United States. Not because his competitors are being weakened, but because I think we live in a conservative country. I think that the senate is policies on cutting taxes, on cutting spending are more in tune with where the country is.
In the Human Events Veepstakes series, no one on "the list" has said flat out whether they would or would not accept the vice-presidency but almost everyone (Sanford, Pawlenty, etc.) has seemed rather keen on the idea.
As for Jindal -- he's only 36 and has a lot to do for the state he just started in. I know you can't predict if the future will hold a spot for you but someone this young, successful and ready to be a great conservative leader has a lot of years to turn that page.
Posted at 2:38pm on Apr. 28, 2008 Jeremiah Wright's Top 14 Comments at the Press Club Today
By Ericka Andersen
Jeremiah Wright was no different this morning at the National Press Club than the way he is portrayed in the “sound bytes” that made him a national controversy. He waded in a pool of slavery and segregation, justifying his anti-American and anti-white comments through and through. He was extremely defensive with the questioner at the Press Club and did a good job NOT FOOLING anyone about what he really thinks. The mostly black crowd cheered loudly throughout and gave him several standing ovations and “Amens.”
Here is my personal list of "favorite" statements from his speech and question/answer session this morning (in no particular order):
1. Those who call me unpatriotic have used their positions of privilege to avoid military service while sending 4,000 American boys and girls to die over a lie!
2. America has never confessed the sin of racism....and we cannot forgive them when they are still “stepping of my foot.” (this is not exactly how it was said but close enough..."
3. Of White People: My theological lens shapes my anthropological lens and as a result, white males are superior, all others inferior.
4. Therefore, I order my society where I can worship God on Sunday morning wearing a black clergy robe and kill others on Sunday even wearing a white Klan robe!
5.The Christianity of the slaveholder is not the Christianity of the slave.
6. …We recognize for the first time in modern history in the West that the “other” who stands before us with a different color skin…that the other is one of God’s children just as we are.
7. On America’s “Chickens coming home to roost.”: You can’t do terrorism on other people and expect it not t come back to you…
8. [Louis Farrakhan] is one of most important voices…when he speaks, all black American listens. He is not my enemy, he didn’t put me in chains, slavery or make me this color.
9. If Obama didn’t say what he said, he would never get elected.
10. I’m not running for office but I’m open to being VP
11. On US "creating" the HIV Virus: I believe our government is capable of anything.
12. Biblical history (something the working press is unfamiliar with…)
13. We have troops all over the world…because we run the world
14. “I said to Barack Obama last year, ‘If you get elected, November the 5th I'm coming after you, because you'll be representing a government whose policies grind under people.
When you heard it all pieced together, it was really quite amazing. Sigh...
Posted at 3:17pm on Apr. 23, 2008 Parents Take a Stand: The Reads Sue for Fallen Soldier Son's Name Being Used "For Profit" on T-Shirt
By Ericka Andersen
The parents of a 21-year-old soldier killed in Iraq are suing an online retailer for including their son's name on antiwar t-shirts that list the names of thousands of military personnel killed in the war.
Brandon Read's name was used on the t-shirt and his parents, Michael and Robin, were never contacted for permission to use it. So they made it legal.
According to legal documents, they can make the case on the fact that the Arizona businessman used Brandon's name "for profit." Here is a copy of the letter the Reads sent the online retailer when they heard the news.
Apparently, the front of the shirt read "Bush Lied" and the back read, "They Died" with the names of soldiers lost in the war listed below. I hope more parents like the Reads will take notice and the same action if their son or daughter's name is listed on this "for-profit" t-shirt that does not honor our heroes.
