Posted at 10:26am on Jun. 11, 2007 What are we going to DO?

By JBAbraham

It is obvious that the immigration bill is not dead, and will be revived. So, what do we do? In its current form, it is truly at its’ best an abysmal piece of legislation. No matter how many amendments are added to or taken from it, the end result is BAD!

The author of the current bill was instrumental in the ’65 and ’86 bills that have brought us where we are today. That alone should tell you something about what this bill will produce if enacted!

By JBAbraham

The immigration bill is dead. Or is it? I assure you that it will rear its’ ugly head again. Perhaps this time it will see the light of day through the committee
process so that the public is aware of the idiocy they will try again to perpetrate.

In hopes of preventing another debacle such as we just witnessed, it is not time to sit back and savor victory, but to remain as active as we have been in helping defeat it!

Posted at 11:28am on Jun. 7, 2007 NOT the Brightest Bulb in the Box!!

By JBAbraham

As the title suggests, far from being the brightest in a 100 watt box of bulbs, I reside at the end of the aisle in the blister-packs of 7 watt night lights. What little light I can shed on an issue is therefore small, and does not suffer from the pretensions of being politically correct. I simply don’t posses the intelligence, or so I’ve been told.

Can’t see the forest for the trees? Perhaps it is exactly my limitations that allow me to see a few of the trees.

Posted at 10:27am on May 27, 2007 What the Liberals Get Right ... and WE DON’T

By JBAbraham

Promoted from Diaries - MartinAKnight

What the liberals get right can be identified with one word – ACTIVISM. While we as conservatives also participate in activism, we tend to do so within the context of traditional morals and values, the ultimate result of which is that we are not heard.

We operate at a distinct disadvantage in that the liberals have powerful allies in the MSM that we do not. They are therefore heard loudly. They generate exposure to the general populace that is effective, yielding results!

Posted at 10:12am on May 23, 2007 Is This the Biggest Crises Yet? A Declaration of War! Don’t Lose Faith!

By JBAbraham

Congress has declared war on the citizens of America. Rather than being the egalitarian representatives they should be as our Constitution definitively declares, the have become elitist and have an agenda!!

In an earlier post, “Get Ready for ‘Amexican’”, I posited a scenario that would lead to a North American Union and was chided by the editors for being ‘an NAU conspiracy theorist’. Sadly, tangible evidence that there is a conspiracy is contained within the Comprehensive Immigration bill.

Posted at 10:35pm on May 21, 2007 Immigration Bill: An Amazing OPPORTUNITY!

By JBAbraham

The ‘bill’, as it has now passed cloture, will have some light shed upon it. And that is a very good thing. It could be thought that out of it some good could be derived. There are times in life when even the worst that can happen to us results in opening an opportunity previously unseen. Read on…

It seems that the immigration bill has the potential to be highly destructive to both the Republican and Democratic parties in terms of trust of the American people at the grassroots level.

Posted at 11:26am on May 20, 2007 Symptoms of Misguided Foolishness

By JBAbraham

The congressional bill for (fill in the blank) happens not to be the problem. It is only symptomatic of a much larger problem. The Immigration bill, for example, is purported to be a thousand pages or more. Does it really take that much to obfuscate what could be dealt with in ten pages? We need common sense, clarity, and common objective language in our laws and regulations. It is said that ignorance of the law is no excuse. Read on…

Posted at 1:22pm on May 18, 2007 Hypocrisy and Humility

By JBAbraham

I remain unapologetic for my previous post. Rather than being a “conspiracy theorist”, as someone pointed out, I think it represents one of several plausible scenarios that current events dictate could happen. Without vigilance and activism, we will most certainly have taken from us what freedoms remain from years of governmental excess.

Applause to the Directors for pointing out that there are more immediate (not by much) issues to be dealt with. Funding for the war in Iraq is of paramount importance and serves also to point out the incredible hypocrisy of this Congress. A live frog in a hot frying pan would have difficulty changing position as violently and often as some of our leaders. I remind readers that even a freshly fried frog will move when prodded in the right place with the right stimulus after it has physically died.

By JBAbraham

I am not saying that it might happen; I am saying that it will!
There is simply too much evidence that it is a work in progress, and it has been done through the auspices of our State Department and the White House without congressional consultation. Not that that matters, they are about to sell us out anyway vis-à-vis the new immigration reforms. How laughable!

Posted at 1:29pm on May 17, 2007 How much are we going to change?

By JBAbraham

Walt Kelly said through his comic strip character Pogo: “ We has met the enemy and he is us”. We have real enemies in a real world, and appeasement won’t cut it.

We are our own worst enemies BECAUSE we allow the status quo to continue to exist. We can change things if we have the fortitude to realistically examine the true problem – us.

The larger issues can be simplistically approached as a war between good and evil, and broken down further when looking at evil to the enemy within and the enemy without.
