Posted at 12:28am on Jun. 10, 2008 Republican Congressional & Senate Candidates, Your Gift Has Arrived

By Whitehorse

Gasoline is now averaging over $4 per gallon. Democrats are still blocking expanded drilling for our own oil. The American people know that there is no sound reason for the tremendous recent spike in oil & gasoline prices.

I know many are down & dispirited, with disarray in the overall Congressional & Senate campaigns. You have been given a gift, an issue that will resonate with voters. You CAN make the case that we have enough of our own oil & can obtain it with economically feasible & environmentally sound methods.

Posted at 1:56am on May 25, 2008 How to Defeat a Conservative Sounding Democrat?

By Whitehorse

I won't have links or anything, because anyone who's been on Redstate for just about any amount of time is well aware of the very successful strategy by the democrats (crafted by Rahm Emmanuel) of running conservative sounding democrats in conservative congressional districts & states. We know what the problem is, the question is how to fix it? Only saying that the pro-life, pro-gun talking democrat is not really who he/she says he/she is won't work.

The entire world seems to be heading toward points of inflection. The developing world is embarking on the digital age. The developed world is entering the Internet era. And the United States, once again at the vanguard, is on the verge of becoming the world's first Entrepreneurial Nation.

By Whitehorse

In the focus on Republican congressional hopes & woes I bring this post.

Boehner's GOP fix: A new committee

Faced with dire predictions of an electoral bloodbath in November, House Republican leader John A. Boehner responded Wednesday by creating a committee to advise the National Republican Congressional Committee.

Posted at 1:20am on May 7, 2008 Newt's Plea to Republicans: It's Time for Real Change to Avoid Real Disaster

By Whitehorse

The Republican loss in the special election for Louisiana's Sixth Congressional District last Saturday should be a sharp wake up call for Republicans: Either Congressional Republicans are going to chart a bold course of real change or they are going to suffer decisive losses this November.

I have to agree with Gingrich on this one. It may not mean that republicans retake the majority in November; (not many scenarios show that possibility) however, it could "stop the bleeding" & chart a course for retaking the majority in future elections and really doing something spectacularly good with that majority.

Posted at 12:25am on Mar. 23, 2008 My New Favorite Illustrative Title - "Donner Party Democrats"

By Whitehorse

This comes from a source unabashedly pro-democrat party, from the democrat perspective. It is a wonderful read, however, once one gets past the pro-dem bias. I love the first line...

When they set out, it all looked so bright — away to the West, to the Denver convention, nothing but blue skies ahead. They had a continent to cross, a nation to convince, and they vowed to do it in a way that had never been done before. They moved briskly across the plains of the Bush presidency. There was the scarecrow president who didn’t know the price of fuel or the ways of war. Flapping in the wind, he pointed one way, while 70 percent of the country wanted to go the other...

Posted at 3:29pm on Mar. 3, 2008 Another Bad Idea from Tennessee Democrats

By Whitehorse

Detailed in the article entitled Bill would let candidates feed poll workers.

Tennessee lawmakers are getting ready to cross a line — the invisible 100-foot boundary that's supposed to separate candidates from the inside of a polling place on Election Day.

Nashville Democrats Sen. Joe Haynes of Goodlettsville and Rep. Gary Moore of Joelton, propose letting candidates for public office enter polling places, bearing gifts of doughnuts, pizzas, beverages and other goodies to feed poll workers.

By Whitehorse

Ari Kaufman at American Thinker has a great take on who he considers to be the Three Worst Presidents in US History. Take a look at the entire article, he makes very cogent arguments for his rankings & the information would be something to keep as a resource.

The bottom three - a short take:

Posted at 11:16pm on Feb. 17, 2008 An Interview With Arthur Laffer - Supply Side Economics

By Whitehorse

Crossposted at WhitehorseMusings.

We've been "treated" to condemnations & vitriol regarding supply side or "trickle down" economics for almost 30 years. The Tennessean has an interview with recent Nashville transplant Arthur Laffer, a giant in conservative supply side economics. A very interesting interview, especially from a political perspective - if one looks at the presidential candidates he's voted for over the years. I'll pull out a few quotes, but take the time to read the entire interview.
