Posted at 3:21pm on Feb. 9, 2008 And The Media Obsession with McCain Ends
By Mcon
I can't help but laugh at how the media is just now starting to change their tune on McCain. And I can't help but laugh at any poor ignorant fool who actually believed the MSM created meme that McCain was the most electable.
This is just the very beginning of the evolution in the McCain-MSM relationship, one that will eventually take McCain from the "favorite son" position to that of "most despised enemy" aka he would try to stop TheirManObama from "saving" the country.

Posted at 9:54pm on Jan. 25, 2008 My main problem with McCain
By Mcon
First Amendment --- Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
In its restriction of political speech in the period before elections McCain-Feingold is imposed as an egregious abridgment of the First Amendment of the Bill of Rights. We can't combine with others to place ads pointing out our issues and positions. In effect, McCain-Feingold tells us that we do not have the right to assemble with others to spread our opinions freely. If one or two or ten million of us of like mind could assemble on a plain big enough and stood clustered in a great circle facing outward and shouted together as though with one clear voice, "Hillary Clinton is a crook," McCain Feingold says no because we are having too much impact. We can only holler pointing out Billary's faults if we do it alone in our own yards.

Posted at 11:38pm on Jan. 16, 2008 More Post Michigan Commentary
By Mcon
(Note: I was posting this as a response to Conservative Paul but I moved it here.)
I think a more useful measure of the support for the candidates is the average percentage each candidate has gotten so far in the several states. And I'm not even including WY even though Mitt is my guy...
Romney 32%
McCain 26.7%
Huckabee 20%
Paul 8%
Thompson 6%
Giuliani 5%
The raw vote was obviously influenced by Michigan's size. These percentages point to at least two tidbits of info: first, Giuliani is getting trashed badly even in states where he has lead and should be playing well; second, Thompson just doesn't have what it takes to win this thing. He can't win with Huckabee and Romney in the race and I don't see them heading for the exits at least till after the Thompson campaign is rotting in the morgue. (And I like Thompson sooooo much more than Bubba Jr.)

I hadn't seen this Youtube until today. Forgive me if you have. As if I needed another reason to not support Rudy.

By Mcon
(As a preface this article isn't about religious beliefs. It is about politics.)
As if we needed confirmation that Huckabee is playing the “Christians for Huckabee” Card.

Note the subtlety of the attack. Note that Huckabee, as a Baptist Pastor, was and is well versed in the lines of attack on the Mormon Church. Lest we forget, his famous “take back America” quote was from a Baptist convention in Salt Lake City, Utah. Note that the SBC website has been engaged in a multipart series on Mormons:

Posted at 5:53pm on Nov. 19, 2007 Targetpoint responds to NRO "irresponsible speculation"
By Mcon
Since I am not sure how to do the block quotes for the fair use rules, I will post this and assume someone will point me in the right direction for after I get off work.
The following is the Targetpoint response to the NRO piece trying to connect the dots and blaim the Romney campaign for the recent push polls.

Wrong Target
To the Editor
Today’s unfortunate article written by Mark Hemingway concerning allegations over anti-Romney push-polling that suggests that TargetPoint Consulting was somehow involved is both inaccurate and inexcusable.
