By Seth Kegley
I was sent a free copy of the new Townhall magazine and it has a column by Bobby Jindal and what he is doing in Louisiana. The guy oozes Reagan in terms of his view of the role of government. In fact, I think the title of the column was "Getting Government Out of the Way" or something to that effect. He is one of the few Republicans out there right now who are putting out the right and winning message for Republicans.

Do we need 4 years in the desert (A Democratic Presidency) to get a solid Conservative leader to rebuild the Conservative Coalition? Its looking that way to me. If McCain and Huckabee is the GOP ticket I will still go vote for the House race and state races but I will either leave my vote for President blank or I will vote third party. It took 4 years of Carter for us to get Reagan. If it takes 4 years of Obama or Clinton for us to get a strong Conservative leader than so be it.

I'm starting to wonder if I'm really a Republican anymore... seeing the "frontrunners" for the GOP nomination I can honestly say I have no one for which I can agree with on even an simple majority of issues... The one guy who I thought was the most conservative is likely out of the race now. I guess I just don't understand what it is Republican voters are looking for in this election. They say they want substance and they want a strong conservative, but when they are given one they complain about him "being late" or "lazy" or "uninspiring"...

By Seth Kegley
Obviously, I want Republicans (the true fiscal conservative types) to win the House, Senate and Presidency in November, but if that couldn't happen and likely won't happen, what would be the next best scenario.
1) Win the Presidency and lose the House by a narrow margin and the Senate by a Narrow margin.
2) Win the Presidency and the House by a narrow margin, but lose the Senate.
3) Win the House and Senate, but lose the Presidency.

An excellent monologue by Rush Limbaugh on the status of Conservatism. He discusses some of the recent things Newt Gingrich and other Conservatives have been saying about the "End of the Reagan Era." I am personally astounded that Gingrich has come out and basically agreed with Mike Huckabee that the Republican party needs to remake itself and put aside Reagan Conservatism.
