In the wake of the recent release of the 3Q fundraising numbers for 2008 Presidential candidates, there has been a pretty significant amount of discussion about the significance of Mitt Romney's $8.5 million dollar loan to his own campaign. Mitt's people prefer to compare his fundraising numbers to Rudy's, and Kevin Madden has at least decent spin on that comparison. However, the problem with Team Romney's approach is that it leads to a very unfavorable comparison with Fred Thompson's numbers, in terms of "structural strength." Fred's people are sending around an email which contains the following chart:
