Posted at 3:47pm on Nov. 13, 2007 (ME-01) Scontras: Let's stop illegals from getting Maine licenses
By collegegop04101
This article ran today in the Porltand Press Herald, Dean is talking about the issue of illegals and Maine drivers licenses. Check it out, I am still trying to figure out the link thing, even doing a bunch of reading hasn't helped me I don't see any html button:
The article is here: http://pressherald.mainetoday.com/story.php?id=146691&ac=PHedi
"The governor of New York recently ignited a firestorm of outrage with an executive order to issue driver's licenses to illegal aliens. Fortunately, the people overwhelmingly rejected the governor's ill-advised plan. There is now talk in Albany of recalling the governor."

Dean Scontras Launches Next-Generation Fundraising Innovation
I just got this by email and thought I would share it with the rest of you. It is interesting to see candidates taking full advantage of online tools given the Dems using Moveon.org and ACT Blue. Dean Makes a good point about going away from the mindset of the Republican party being about country club luncheons and cocktail parties.

Posted at 11:17am on Nov. 3, 2007 ME Senate Race: Collins (R) 54%, Allen (D), 34%
By collegegop04101
A New Poll is out in Maine's US Senate Race.
Susan Collins is leading her challenger Tom Allen 54%-34% with 8% undecided.
While it won't be a cake walk for Susan Collins, these poll numbers should be refreshing for Republicans. Tom Allen clearly has some reason to worry as many 3rd party groups have aired TV Ads aimed against Collins and trying to tie her to George W. Bush.
Of note in the poll results, is that Collins leads Allen in the 1st District of which Allen represents currently 49%-36%.

Posted at 10:08am on Oct. 23, 2007 Tom Allen (Maine)- Open Seat
By collegegop04101
Someone asked under the Susan Collins poll post who is running for Allen's open seat. There are actually two GOP candidates running. I encourage you to take a look at these two candidates, if you have the chance.
The first is Charlie Summers, who's currently serving in Iraq.

The Second is Dean Scontras, who is a businessman from Eliot.
